HGTV star Heather Rae El Moussa says she helped resolve conflicts between her husband, Tarek El Moussa and his ex-wife, Christina Haack, while filming the upcoming HGTV series, “The Flip Off.”
During a joint January 2025 interview with Us Weekly, alongside her husband and Haack, Heather Rae El Moussa noted that the former couple often argue and act “like brother and sister.” Tarek El Moussa responded that he has disagreements with his ex-wife “because she always wants to get her way.”
“She doesn’t want to have rules,” said Tarek El Moussa.
Heather Rae El Moussa then shared that she helps end arguments between Haack and her husband.
“I’m the mediator. I jump in and make it lighthearted,” said Heather Rae El Moussa to the publication.
Christina Haack & Tarek El Moussa Said Being Divorced Improved Their Ability to Move on From Arguments With Each Other
While speaking to Us Weekly, Tarek El Moussa and Haack agreed that being divorced improved their ability to move on from arguments with each other.
Tarek El Moussa noted that he and Haack, the mother of his eldest children, Taylor and Brayden, have “gone through a lot of personal healing” since their 2018 divorce.
“I got my life back. I met Heather, and I created this new environment and this new family with Taylor, Brayden and [my and Heather’s son] Tristan. Christina has gone through a lot of ups and downs, but she’s gone through a lot of healing as well,” said Tarek El Moussa to the publication.
Haack told Us Weekly that she had an easier time filming with her ex-husband now that they do not live with each other.
“It’s not usually a good idea to film with a spouse,” said Haack.
Tarek El Moussa Spoke About What Led to His Breakup From Christina Haack
In a February 2024 interview with E! News, Tarek El Moussa opened up about his breakup from Haack. He explained he was diagnosed with testicular and thyroid cancer in 2013. He said after he recovered from cancer, he “hurt [his] back,” causing him to be “on opioids for about a year.” In addition, he “started taking testosterone injections,” which changed his behavior.
“My hormones were all over the place because I had no thyroid. And in 2016, my life imploded. Christina left me. And it was heartbreaking,” said the father of three.
He clarified that he understood why Haack ended their marriage, as he “was a mess for quite a few years.”
Tarek El Moussa Discussed Christina Haack Separation From Her Third Husband
“The Flip Off” initially included Haack’s now-estranged husband, Josh Hall. After their July 2024 split, Hall left the series.
While speaking to E! News in November 2024, Tarek El Moussa shared how Haack reacted to her separation from her third husband.
“Christina is doing great. She’s supported by family. She has the kids. And she’s working her tail off,” said Tarek El Moussa during the E! News interview.
