Heather Rae El Moussa Opens Up About Canceled HGTV Show

Heather Rae El Moussa is breaking her silence on the recent HGTV show cancellations, including her show with husband Tarek El Moussa, “The Flipping El Moussas.” Find out what she said about their show as well as the latest scoop on season 2 of “The Flip Off,” with Tarek’s ex-wife, Christina Haack.

Heather Rae El Moussa Addresses HGTV Cancellations

In a July 2025 interview with Us Weekly, Heather Rae shed some light on HGTV’s recently canceled shows.

When asked if they had heard from HGTV, Heather Rae said, “We actually haven’t. Obviously, I do know they are going through big internal changes, so I’m not quite sure what’s going on there.”

While she couldn’t comment on the cancellations, she did note, “I don’t have a statement for that, but I can say how much I’ve enjoyed being on HGTV.”

Heather Rae added, “I love filming ‘The Flip Off’ and ‘Flipping El Moussas’ and I love flipping houses. But I don’t know internally what’s going on.”

Of “The Flipping El Moussas” possibly returning to TV, she noted, “Anything could happen. To be honest, it was a great show and it still is a great show.”

She added, “I know that the fans loved it, and Tarek and I really, really enjoyed filming that show. It’s definitely a challenging market right now — and with real estate in general. But I think anything could happen.”

When Will ‘The Flip Off’ Return for Season 2?

“The Flip Off,” a house flipping competition series that stars Tarek, Heather Rae, and Haack, is reportedly returning for a second season, but she doesn’t “have any news” yet about the show.

Heather Rae shared, “But I do know the fans would love to see it back and all three of us would love to see it back.”

The HGTV star addressed the possibility of her and Haack teaming up against Tarek on the show. “We will definitely throw that idea around if season 2 comes about,” she noted. “But I love my partners and my husband.”

Heather Rae has her sights set on tackling other shows as well. “There’s so many other shows that I would love to do. I would love to get into hosting and I’m definitely open to [new opportunities],” she explained, noting that her past experiences on TV, modeling, and in commercials give her potential options “to tap into.”

She also pitched a dating show idea involving her husband. “Tarek and I have super fun banter with each other and we love filming together,” she said of hosting that type of show. “But even by myself, there’s so many different shows that I would love to host or be on.”

Heather Rae added, “But also, I don’t know if I could be away from my baby for months at a time. It would have to be something that doesn’t take me away from the family for too long.”
