Heather Rae El Moussa Shares Why She Stopped Feeling Hesitant About Getting Close to Christina Haack

HGTV star Heather Rae El Moussa is opening up about her friendship with her “The Flip Off” co-star, Christina Haack.

During a March 2025 interview with Realtor.com, Heather Rae El Moussa, who is married to Haack’s ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, shared that she was hesitant about having a close friendship with her right before the production of “The Flip Off.” She explained that she did not want to jeopardize their healthy co-parenting relationship. As fans are aware, Tarek El Moussa is the father of Haack’s two eldest children, Taylor and Brayden.

Heather Rae El Moussa also said she felt Haack’s now-estranged husband Josh Hall was worsening their dynamic.

“[Christina] and I got to know each other on a deeper level, where just co-parenting we didn’t,” said Heather Rae El Moussa to the publication. “And I think, of course, there were reservations at first, we were are all in a really good place in our co-parenting relationship that I’m like, ‘Are we sure we want to put ourselves in this position, especially when Josh was involved? Is there gonna be fighting, is there gonna be negativity? Are Tarek and him gonna get along? Is that gonna cause problems between us and Christina?’ So there was, of course, some hesitation. And I wanted to make sure she and I kept a good relationship for the kids.”

She said, however, that she decided to become close friends with Haack after they had a wonderful time filming together on “The Flip Off.”

“But the first day that we filmed together. We had a great time, and we laughed, and she texted me after and she was like, ‘Oh, my God! That was so fun like you’re so fun to film with.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, you, too.’ So it just got better and better every single time we filmed together,” said Heather Rae El Moussa.

Haack and Heather Rae El Moussa spoke about their dynamic during a joint January 2025 interview with Us Weekly. Heather Rae El Moussa said that she “like[s]” Haack and enjoys her company. She also said she and Haack like teasing Tarek El Moussa.

“We’re not besties hanging out all the time, but we’ve gone to dinner together and had a fun time. We actually talked for hours,” said Heather Rae El Moussa to Us Weekly.

Haack also said her relationship with Heather Rae El Moussa is “great.”

“We text daily about the kids. We’re in a really good spot,” said Haack during the Us Weekly interview.

Christina Haack Thanked Her Ex-Husband & His Wife for Their Support

During a January 2025 interview with Access Hollywood, alongside the El Moussas, Haack spoke about her July 2024 separation from Hall. She noted that Hall was supposed to be her partner on “The Flip Off.” However, he left the series following their split.

According to Haack, the El Moussas have been a source of support as she has navigated her divorce from her third husband.

“Thank you guys. You guys were very supportive,” said Haack to Heather Rae and Tarek El Moussa during the interview.
