Heather Rae El Moussa is proving she’s braver than most, taking her toddler son Tristan on a Target run to pick out toys!
The HGTV star posted a video on Instagram of an outing with her adorable two-and-a-half-year old son. The pair headed straight for Target’s toy section, where Tristan quickly zeroed in on the toy cars. But of course, he wanted them ALL!
Heather writes in the caption, “You haven’t truly negotiated until you’ve tried reasoning with a toddler in Target.”
In the video, Heather can be heard calling the blond toddler by the nickname “Trist.” She tells her son, “We can only get three… maybe four,” before Tristan starts throwing toy after toy in the cart.
Heather points out, “We already have that one,” and at one point says, “No, we have to put it back.” But Tristan is adorably undeterred.

“The Flip Off” designer’s three million followers can relate to the negotiations they see in the video.
One comments, “😂 it’s so hard to say no to them. I’m having troubles too. Haha”

And another offers up a pro tip from one mom to another, commenting, “Biggest hack: tell them you will take a picture and add it to their birthday or Christmas list. This works for my 3 year old every time.”
Heather Rae Is Soaking Up Time With Her Toddler
The trip to the toy aisle comes hard on the heels of a momentous week for both Tristan and his parents.
In an emotional post on Instagram, Heather revealed that she and husband Tarek El Moussa let Tristan take preschool for a test run.
In the post, Heather wrote, “My mama heart 🥹
My sweet boy had a “drop in” at the sweetest little preschool today.
Even though we are not ready for pre school just yet… I am so proud of him and so happy that he loved it so much.
And I’m proud of myself lol mama handled it well!”
The adorable pictures with the post show towheaded Tristan proudly showing off his navy blue backpack and lunchbox, both emblazoned with dinosaurs.
The short visit gave the little boy the chance to explore, mingle with other children, and get accustomed to the classroom environment.
Heather El Moussa Is Vocal About How Much She Loves Being a Mom
There’s no doubt Heather Rae El Moussa leads a busy life with not only her design duties on HGTV, but renovating the family’s new $5.2 million dollar home in Newport Beach California, managing her blended family and running her beauty and lifestyle brand “Heather Rae Essentials.”
But she’s still intentional about spending time with her young son, knowing how quickly he’s growing up.
In a recent Instagram post showing special moments with her son, Heather writes, “Nothing fills my heart more than time with my little guy. The cuddles, the giggles, the chaos, I wouldn’t trade this for anything in the world. 🫶🏼💕”
