Few HGTV shows have created as much buzz as “The Flip Off,” a wild six-week competition between ex-spouses Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa, and his wife of three years, Heather Rae El Moussa.
Since the season finale aired on March 5, 2025, fans have been begging for a second season. And it sounds like the stars are open to exploring a rematch, too. Here’s everything we know about what it will take for another season to happen.
Spoiler Alert: The remainder of this article contains spoilers about the first season of “The Flip Off.”
Christina Haack & Heather Rae El Moussa Are Both Open to a ‘Rematch’
At the tail end of the season finale, after the El Moussas were determined the winners with a profit of over $400,000 on the home they flipped, Haack called for a second season.
“I absolutely want a rematch,” she said on the episode. “I want revenge and I will win the next round.”
Though the series has drawn huge ratings, HGTV has not announced plans for another season yet. That could be because there are lots of details to work through — from leveling the playing field, as judge Jeff Lewis recommended in the finale, to figuring out a schedule that would work for everyone involved.
“I think if the audience wants it back, I wouldn’t be opposed to it,” Heather told EntertainmentNOW before the season finale. “I don’t know, you know, we’re just so busy.”
Heather and Tarek’s other show together, “The Flipping El Moussas,” will wrap up its second season on March 13, and she said she’d love to do a third season at some point, but with “maybe not as many flips.” Meanwhile Tarek’s series “Flipping 101” is already set to return for a third season on April 3.
“You know, flipping houses takes a long time, and you run into so many issues that are unexpected, and permits in certain cities are really hard to get,” Heather told EntertainmentNOW. “You think you’re going to be in and out of a house and then, you know, you get a ‘stop work’ notice, or you can’t get a permit for moving that one window. You know, it’s just so many things that you’re not expecting and out of our control.”
Fans Have Flooded Social Media With Requests for a Season 2 of ‘The Flip Off’
As soon as the finale ended, fans began flooding HGTV and the stars’ social media accounts with requests for a second season, including one who wrote on Instagram, “I’m ready for season two already❤️❤️❤️”
“Please film another season, it was so much fun to watch and full of laughs,” another commented. “Best home DIY show ever!”
Many fans noted how special it was to see Haack and the El Moussas success as a blended family, even as they competed on the show, including one who wrote, “Just finished!! I think the kids won! Their parents are getting along and both made some awesome profits! 🤞 for season 2!”
If “The Flip Off” is renewed, Haack will have to decide if she’d continue to fly solo or bring on a partner. Some fans loved her chemistry with finale judge Jeff Lewis, who starred on Bravo’s “Flipping Out” for 11 seasons and has said he’s developing a new show for that network. Others want to see her and Heather team up against Tarek.
One comment on HGTV’s Instagram account — “Team Heather & Christina vs Team Tarek 🔥” — has drawn nearly 200 likes from fans.
Another wrote, “I love this show! I love the honest dynamic and sharing how far they’ve come. I’m totally voting for a Heather and Christina spin off!!!”
