HGTV stars Dave and Jenny Marrs are certainly busy! Fans wondering how many homes they work on at once for “Fixer to Fabulous” might be surprised to find out they are juggling multiple renovations.
Jenny Marrs Answers a Burning Question About ‘Fixer to Fabulous’
On March 7, Jenny took to Instagram to answer some of the most asked questions they’ve received.
One they get a lot is: “How many houses are we typically working on at any given time?” Surprisingly, the answer isn’t just one or two — in fact, it’s four or five!
“We usually work on 4 houses at a time. Sometimes, more,” Jenny responded. “The past couple of years have been weird as we came out of Covid delays and we are just starting to get back to a more typical schedule which means we work on 4-5 houses at a time over a 6-9 week timeframe (sometimes longer … this past season, we had some giant builds that took a few months longer than normal).”
She added, “In comparison, a ‘normal’ non-show build or renovation takes 12 months + … so the production schedule definitely dictates the fast-paced reno timeframe!”
One fan commented, “I have noticed that some of the HGTV shows are showing the design teams on the show. Maybe a mini series could be behind the scenes of making an episode of ‘Fixer to Fabulous.'”
Jenny was definitely on board with the idea, noting, “that would be fun! We have a small but mighty team here! I couldn’t do it without them!”
HGTV Star Shares Why She Uses the Color Green So Often
Another question Jenny answered had to do with the blue-gray paint color used in one of the “Fixer to Fabulous” episodes: “What color are the Frentz family’s kitchen cabinets?”
She answered, “They are one of my favorite colors: Farrow & Ball De Nimes! (I’ve linked to the episode guide in my profile where you can find all of the sources and paint colors).”
In another room of the home, Jenny went with a rich green color (Farrow & Ball Green Smoke).
It’s a go-to color seen in many of her designs, but there’s a good reason for that. One fan asked in the HGTV star’s Facebook Q&A post comments, “Can we move on from the color green?”
She explained why it’s so well-loved. “Nope. Homeowners give me their color preferences and I always work with what they ask for and green is on 99% of their lists!” she shared.
Jenny added, “It’s a soothing color inspired by nature and the most versatile color there is. It can be neutral or bold or moody or modern or traditional … the list is unending. It’s the absolute best color in the color wheel in my humble opinion. I’ll never not use it.”
