Erin Napier Teases ‘Exciting’ New Project

Erin Napier has an exciting new project in the works — and it has nothing to do with her HGTV series “Home Town.” Find out what she’s working on next!

Erin Napier Shares a New Project

On May 13, Napier took to her Instagram Stories to share some big news. “I have something exciting to tell y’all …” she first teased.

Napier then shared, “@adamtrest and I have another children’s picture book in the works!”

The literary agency, High Line Literary Collective, shared more details in an Instagram post, noting, “New Book Deal Alert.”

“If these walls could talk … It’s Christmas time! Okay, not exactly. But at High Line, we’re already gearing up for the holiday season. And what better way to do that than with the NYTimes bestselling team behind ‘The Lantern House’?” the agency noted.

The post continued, “From HGTV star and multiple NYTimes bestselling author @erinapier and illustrator @adamtrest comes … you guessed it … ‘The Christmas House’! A warm, soulful story about family, connection and the special tales our homes can tell during the holidays.”

They noted, “In the meantime, you can get the year-round ‘Lantern House’ at the link in our bio while you wait for the holiday cheer.”

The story is “told from the perspective of the home and highlighting family traditions and what really matters most during the holidays.”

Erin Napier’s ‘The Lantern House’ Is a ‘Timeless Story’

In a September 2021 Instagram post, Napier shared the release of her first children’s book.

“Imagine a house’s early days as a home: A young family builds a picket fence and plants flowers in its yard, children climb the magnolia tree and play the piano in the living room, and there is music inside the house for many happy years,” she wrote.

Napier continued, “But what will happen when its windows grow dark, the paint starts to crumble, and its boards creak in the winter wind? ‘The Lantern House’ dreams of a family who will love it again … and one day, a new story will emerge from within its walls.”

She explained, “My favorite books from childhood were ‘The Little House’ by Virginia Lee Burton and ‘The House on East 88th Street’ by Bernard Waber. The dreamy, whimsical imperfections of the hand-drawn and painted artwork and architecture inspired me then and continue even now as I design homes for a living on ‘Home Town.'”

Napier called the book “a return to classic children’s literature with the timeless story of a house as an ever-present member of the family, a watcher and keeper of the people who love and live within it.”
