Fans of HGTV mega-stars Erin and Ben Napier have a lot more “Home Town” to look forward to. The couple have signed an exclusive new deal with the cable network that guarantees their hit show will continue through 2027, Variety first reported on January 27, 2025.
As part of the new agreement, the Napiers will film 32 more episodes of “Home Town,” according to a press release about the new talent deal. Though a new season of their popular spin-off series, “Home Town Takeover,” is also expected to air in 2025, details on its future were not shared.
“The HGTV family is where we belong,” the Napiers said in a joint statement. “Shows are often impermanent but ‘Home Town’ endures, we think, because it lives on a network that teaches and gives comfort to people. It’s more than pretty houses. That’s something we are proud to be part of.”
HGTV Exec Says Erin & Ben Napier’s Show Has Delivered ‘Strong Ratings Performance’ Every Season
In a statement released to media, HGTV Head of Content Loren Ruch said of the Napiers’ new agreement, “Our collaboration with Ben and Erin has led to Home Town’s popularity with our key audiences and strong ratings performance every season. This new deal will ensure fans get more of what they love about the series, which is the Napiers’ charming relationship dynamic and passion for designing beautiful family homes in their small town.”
On “Home Town,” the Napiers renovate charming old homes in their hometown of Laurel, Mississippi. The show was an instant hit for HGTV when it premiered in 2016, and made the Napiers — woodworker Ben and designer Erin — massive stars who have since launched their own businesses, published multiple books, served as ambassadors for major brands from Swiffer to Chevrolet, and created Osprey, their own non-profit initiative around limiting kids’ social media usage.
In the nine years since launching their show, the Napiers have also become parents to two little girls — Helen, 7, and Mae, 3 — who appear but rarely show their faces on their parents’ show and social media.
The second half of the Napiers’ eighth season of “Home Town” premiered on December 29, with new episodes currently airing each Sunday night. In an Instagram post on January 27, Ben wrote that they “will start filming again soon.”
Erin & Ben Napier’s Alma Mater is Building School in Their Honor to Help Students Emulate Their Success
The Napiers’ success is something one of their alma maters is working to help other young people emulate. During the third episode of their eighth season, which aired in January 2024, the Napiers learned that Jones College in Ellisville, Mississippi, planned to create a school in their names. While attending the two-year junior college, the Napiers met and fell in love in 2004, and then moved on to the University of Mississippi to earn their bachelor’s degrees, per People.
During that episode, Ben broke down in tears after the president of Jones College announced plans to establish the Erin and Ben Napier School of Design and Building Arts.
“We’ve learned a lot by watching you guys and how you’ve been able to revitalize towns,” he told them. “We want to teach those skillsets, from laying a foundation to the advanced work that we see you guys do.”
The Napiers were clearly stunned and thrilled, with Erin noting that “everyone on both sides of our family went to school here.” Ben struggled through tears to describe how much cementing their legacy there means to him, calling it “an unbelievable honor.”
The school is currently raising funds for a 35,000 square foot facility it has planned, with programs designed to “address the workforce gap of skilled building designers, carpenters, and craftspeople that are needed to restore and preserve small towns across Mississippi.”
