HGTV stars Erin and Ben Napier are sharing why they feel honored to be filming their series, “Home Town” and “Home Town: Takeover.”
During a joint March 2025 interview on the “Tamron Hall Show,” the Napiers noted that they renovate the properties for everyday people during the production of both their shows. According to Erin Napier, “It’s just a huge honor” to do so.
Ben Napier agreed with his wife. He explained that he and Erin Napier have the rare ability to give positive surprises to people.
“We get to be Santa Claus. But I mean, you think about it, as an adult, the things that surprise you, in a good way — they get fewer and fewer [good] things are happening” said Ben Napier during the interview. “So we get to go to a town and surprise these people. ‘We’re going to renovate your house.’ Or in our hometown, we get to bring them home when we’re done with the house. And it’s like Christmas morning.”
The Napiers Shared How Long They Would Like to Remain Filming for HGTV
While speaking to TV Insider in March 2025, the Napiers shared how long they would like to remain filming for HGTV. The first season of “Home Town” began airing in 2016.
“HGTV has been extremely good to us and our family. Somebody asked me recently, ‘How much longer are you going to do this?’ We’ll do it until they don’t want us to, I guess,” said Ben Napier during the interview.
Erin Napier clarified that their family, which includes their daughters, Helen and Mae, is their “first priority.”
“If there is ever a point it feels like it might be affecting our family in a negative way, we walk away,” said Erin Napier to the publication.
Ben Napier then said, “HGTV knows that.”
“They respect that,” continued Ben Napier.
Ben Napier Said He Did Not Believe ‘Home Town’ Would Be as Popular as It Is
During a February 2024 interview with HGTV, alongside Erin Napier, Ben Napier said he did not expect “Home Town” to be as popular as it is.
“Our expectations are always kept in check. We still feel like the network could call us tomorrow and say, ‘It’s just not working out. We are gonna wrap this up.’ We know entertainment is a finicky business,” said Ben Napier to HGTV.
Erin Napier said, however, that she “did feel a lot of people would find this show relatable.” She clarified that she “did not realize for how long.”
