HGTV Says Fans Will See Drew & Jonathan Scott ‘in a Different Light’ With New Series

After years of only conducting renovations close to home in Los Angeles, “Property Brothers” stars Drew Scott and Jonathan Scott are ready to hit the road for their next HGTV series.

On February 13, 2025, HGTV announced that the twin brothers will be “Chasing the West” — the working title for their new show — as they help clients who want to trade in city living and give ranching “out west” a try. The Scott brothers will tap into their years growing up on a ranch in Canada — a fact few fans know about them — to help families adjust to their new lives, HGTV said.

New Series With Drew & Jonathan Scott to Premiere in Summer 2025

Over the last decade, the twins known as the “Property Brothers” have grown their brand into a $3 billion lifestyle empire, per Variety. But many fans don’t realize Drew and Jonathan grew up on a cattle ranch in British Columbia.

Though their recent shows have all been filmed close to home in L.A., a press release from HGTV said with the new show, they’ll “bring their personal experience to buyers longing for a taste of adventure” in California, Arizona and Texas.

The families they help will be excited to leave chaotic city life behind, but running a ranch is no walk in the park. So the brothers will help them navigate the “unique challenges of ranch living,” from getting used to the slower pace, taking care of livestock and growing produce.

HGTV has ordered eight episodes of “Catching the West,” which will premiere in the summer of 2025.

In a statement, Head of HGTV Content Loren Ruch said, “For more than a decade, Drew and Jonathan have made families’ dreams of a beautiful home a reality, and they’ll continue that journey in a brand-new way in ‘Chasing the West.’ Now millions of fans will see the brothers in a different light when they share their strong passion and vast knowledge of ranch living with regular people just like us hoping to make a major lifestyle change.”

While it may be hard to imagine Drew and Jonathan in chaps and cowboy boots, they have plenty of experience ranching.

“A lot of people don’t know this, but we were ranch kids,” Jonathan said while promoting another show in 2015. “We grew up corralling horses, herding cattle and working hard on the farm.”

In 2017, Drew told CBC Radio that growing up on a ranch taught him and his brother about work ethic, among other things.

“You learn the value of a hard day’s work on a ranch,” he said. “You don’t get a free ride. You’re out there feeding the animals, taking care of the land. You get an appreciation for the environment and the livestock.”
