While HGTV continues to add to its list of cancelled shows, Drew and Jonathan Scott are cooking up a new show for the network. And the brothers say it’s not like anything else on the network.
The Property Brothers have put out a casting call for the show, called “Top of the Block.”
The casting call reads, “HGTV’s newest competition show could be coming to your neighborhood!Three house-proud homeowners open their doors and go head-to-head to see who will triumph as the best on the block. A small panel of lovely neighbors (and one expert) tour, admire and compare each house’s style, layout and charm, ultimately picking their favorite home! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We want to see your unique home in whatever stage of beauty it is currently in. Show us the best your home has to offer.”
On the Top of the Block website, a section for Frequently Asked Questions explains what the show is about. It reads, “Three house-proud households go head-to-head to see who has the best house on the block. They open their doors to a small panel of neighbours (and one expert) who tour, judge, and compare their opinions on each home’s style, layout, and perceived value. It’s fun, competitive, and family-friendly!”
‘Top of the Block’ Comes As Other Shows By the Bros Get Delayed
The news about “Top of the Block” comes just as a flurry of shows on HGTV have not been renewed.
Tarek and Heather El Moussa’s “The Flipping El Moussas,” Christina Haack’s “Christina on the Coast,” Jonathan Knight’s “Farmhouse Fixer,” Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson’s “Married to Real Estate,” Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas’ “Bargain Block,” Izzy Battres’ new show “Izzy Does It,” and the competition show “Battle on the Beach” starring Alison Victoria, Taniya Nayak and Ty Pennington.
And two of Drew and Jonathan Scott’s upcoming shows have been delayed.
“Chasing the West,” which was originally set to debut on July 8, will now premiere on July 30.
And while July 30 was the original premiere date for the second season of “Don’t Hate Your House With the Property Brothers,” there is currently no published debut date. HGTV only says the show will air “later this year” in an updated press release.

Despite those delays, fans of Jonathan and Drew Scott won’t have a hard time finding the bros on HGTV.
In fact, a new season of their show “Celebrity IOU” is airing now on the network,
So far, the brothers have helped “Superman” star Rachel Brosnahan and funnyman Joel McHale renovate spaces for loved ones. Those episodes are streaming on HBO Max.
