Dave and Jenny Marrs have had an emotional year, but there’s something that’s bringing the whole family a lot of joy right now.
And that’s Dave and Jenny’s new rescue cow!
In a recent Instagram post, the “Fixer to Fabulous” star updated followers on Minnie, the newest resident at the Marrs Farm. The video shows 11-year-old Charlotte Marrs offering the miniature rescue cow some food, as 6-year-old Luke Marrs climbs down from the fence and tries to get closer to Minnie.
In the caption, Dave Marrs writes, “This mini cow is most likely going to be an obese mini cow. Charlotte is determined to tame her. And, that includes lots and lots of treats! Luke, on the other hand, just wants to see if he can ride her. I’m not sure who I want to succeed first. 😂😂😂”
Jenny Marrs Introduced Minnie to Followers
Jenny Marrs first introduced her Instagram followers to Minnie the mini-cow about a week before Dave Marrs’ post.
The video is captioned “This is the story of a cow named Minnie. She was smaller than her siblings and never quite fit in with the herd. Today Minnie found a new home in Arkansas. We have a long way to go to earn her trust. But, we won’t ever give up on her.”
The video shows a very skittish Minnie confronted by curious llamas and sheep on the Marrs Farm.
Jenny explains in the post, “Oh, Minnie. You didn’t fit the standards for the cattle farm. There, you were too small. Too different. But, here? Here, you are enough.
Today, you are sad and confused and scared. You left everything you’ve ever known. You were taken to a strange pasture with strange animals and humans.”
Jenny went on, “We know it won’t be easy to earn your trust. We know it’s going to take more than gentle words and yummy treats. We know it’s going to take us showing up, day after day. It’s going to take sacrifice on our part. Time and energy and love poured out. And, without a doubt, we know it’s going to be worth it. We can’t wait to watch you flourish here, little one.
Welcome to the farm, Minnie! 🤍🤍”
Jenny added a note to her husband at the end of the post, writing, “**** And thank you to @dave.marrs for the best surprise today (after a very long week) – a rescue cow? Yes, please. Always. 🤍”
Jenny Marrs Posts a Hopeful Update on Minnie the Mini-Cow
Just three days after Jenny Marrs‘ Instagram post announcing Minnie’s arrival at the farm, she posted a very hopeful update.
Showing a closeup picture of Minnie with a red tag on one ear and a gold tag on the other, Jenny wrote, “Our little rescue cow has settled in at the farm and we’ve seen progress over the past few days! She’s no longer crying at the fence line and she now voluntary walks toward us when we enter the pasture with her treats. Yet, she is still skittish and hasn’t quite fit in with our little menagerie of animals. Charlotte has big plans to show her in 4-H and we are already on the lookout for a cow friend for her. We have a cow bell on order (like the ones we fell in love with in Switzerland) and we can’t wait for her to be comfortable enough with us to let us cut off her ear tags.”
Jenny then talked about how much her family is learning from Minnie, writing, “Minnie has already taught our family so much. It seems that when we look or act differently than everyone else, we are treated like an outsider and we start to believe the lie that we don’t belong. But, we were all created exactly the way God intended. He doesn’t make mistakes. In Minnie’s case, her legs are shorter than other cows and she’s been pushed around her whole life. She has no reason to trust other animals or humans. She has always felt rejected.
But, we are determined to remind Minnie that she is loved just as she is. To quote Charlotte, “look at that cutie pie! Just by standing there, she’ll win” … she’s never had a reason to believe that before but we believe it for her and will keep on reminding her until she learns to trust us. 🤍”
