Beloved HGTV couple Dave and Jenny Marrs rang in 2025 far from home, but in a place very close to their hearts. On New Year’s Day, Jenny revealed via Instagram that they’d decided just a month before to take their five kids back to Italy for the holiday.
The “Fixer to Fabulous” stars have traveled there many times over the last two decades, and included their kids in the filming of their 2023 spin-off, “Fixer to Fabulous: Italiano.” But after returning during a European vacation in the summer of 2024, they didn’t have plans to go back again so soon — until Jenny had a change of heart.
She wrote in her post, “I’ve long been saving airline miles like the golden treasures they are (we cashed in Dave’s account this summer). A month ago, I decided ‘why keep saving instead of just taking the trip?!’ So, we took the trip.”
Fans Celebrate the Marrs’ Spontaneous New Year’s Trip
Jenny shared a series of photos of her family ringing in the new year with fireworks and friends and tagged Natale a Montepulciano, a popular Christmas market in central Italy.
In the post’s caption, she wrote, “We are visiting one of our very favorite places and some of our very favorite people and I quite honestly can’t think of a better way to end 2024 and begin 2025.”
Jenny continued, “This is the place where we all feel so welcome – at home outside of our home – where we can exhale and be ourselves and experience the magic that comes with letting life unfold unhurried and unplanned. It wasn’t easy to make this trip happen but it was wholly, absolutely worth it. 🤍 Buon anno, amici! 🎊”

When one of her followers wrote how happy she was that they made the trip happen, Jenny replied, “Thank you! We only have three years left with all the kids under our roof so we can’t are collecting are the memories😭🙌♥️♥️”

Jenny also expressed her gratitude for another comment from someone who wrote, “Take the trips!!! Jenny you guys have worked so hard. Your kids are at awesome traveling ages. Happy New Year!!! 🙏🎉🎉🎉”
Sarah & Bryan Baeumler Also Traveled Internationally With Their Kids for the Holidays
The Marrs were not the only HGTV family who spent the holidays far from home. Sarah and Bryan Baeumler of “Renovation Island” took their four kids — Quintyn, Charlotte, Lincoln, and Josephine — to Australia for Christmas, they both shared in a series of Instagram posts.
On Christmas Day, Sarah shared an Instagram video with some of their trip highlights, from petting baby kangaroos to surfing. She also posted several photos from their trip Down Under, including one of her and Bryan kissing, which she joked was their attempt at “embarrassing our kids in public.”
The Baeumlers also rang in the new year in Melbourne, Bryan shared in a post. After an eventful week, Sarah shared in her Instagram Stories on January 3 that they had boarded their flight for the long journey home.
