Play ‘Fixer to Fabulous’ Challenges on ‘Design Home’

On February 19, Electronic Arts (EA) announced that HGTV “Fixer to Fabulous” challenges were available to play in the mobile game “Design Home.” The HGTV challenges are available weekly.

In a February interview with Vice, EA explained how the collaboration became a reality.

“It was a natural fit to bring HGTV’s world-class brands and shows into ‘Design Home.’ And similarly, for their hosts to use our game as inspiration for their latest designs,” EA told Vice. “As a design game with a large player base that uses real-world brands and furniture, we are always looking for ways to make our players feel like true designers.”

EA also shared how Dave and Jenny Marrs of “Fixer to Fabulous” influenced the game. “Through new challenges such as ‘Bentonville Beauty,’ players are transported to unique rooms in Arkansas where they can get a little taste of what the Marrs do on a day-to-day basis,” the video game company shared.

Dave and Jenny will “take a break to play ‘Design Home’ challenges” during the March 25 episode of “Fixer to Fabulous.”

In a February 19 Instagram post announcing the “Design Home” and “Fixer to Fabulous” collab, Dave and Jenny got in the fun.

“Design Home x HGTV is Here! 🎉” the caption shared. “We’re bringing the magic of HGTV to Design Home! Get ready for exclusive challenges inspired by your favorite shows like House Hunters and Fixer to Fabulous.”

The caption added, “From bold transformations to stunning designs, it’s your time to shine and create like the stars. 🌟 New HGTV-themed challenges are added weekly — don’t miss out! Play now and start designing the home of your dreams! 🛋️🌿.”

In the video, Dave notes how the room is “so empty” and Jenny gets to work designing. She plunks a sofa into the space, which her husband falls onto. “I can do better,” she says as she views other furniture options, replacing her first choice with a curved white couch.

“Part gaming,” Dave says. “Part designing,” Jenny notes.

Dave adds, “All fun.”

Jenny places a rug in the room, then Dave tries his hand at adding art to the space. “I love it,” she says, while Dave gives it “five stars.”
