Fans of HGTV show “Fixer to Fabulous” are familiar with Dave and Jenny Marrs‘ farm in Bentonville, Arkansas. In fact, many scenes from the show have been filmed there over the years.
But now, true fans can visit the farm in person and fill up a bucket with blueberries!
The Marrs Berry Farm has officially opened up for berry picking season!
An Instagram post shows the Marrs’ youngest son, 6-year-old Luke, holding a basket of blueberries. In it, Jenny writes, “🫐 The berries are ready! The berries are ready! 🫐” The Marrs Berry Farm hosted its first u-pick night Tuesday, June 10, but there are plenty more to come.
A post on the Berry Farm’s Instagram account explains how this year is different from previous berry seasons at the farm. It reads, “Details -> We are not hosting one big Berry Fest event, instead we are hosting smaller, quieter, simpler u-pick evenings in the fields. Your family can enjoy a beautiful summer evening picking berries throughout the season! Weather (and ripe berries) permitting, we hope to be open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays each week during the season. (We will post details regarding open days and times here – check here on Instagram before visiting!)
As of now, we have plans for a special u—pick next Saturday, June 14th. Join us from 5-9 PM and all proceeds from the evening will benefit @nwachildrensshelter. We love and support the work they’re doing each day to care for the vulnerable kids in our community and we’re honored to partner with them again at the farm this year! 🤍”
Proceeds Will Be Divided Between Marrs’ Most-Loved Charities
Dave and Jenny Marrs started the Berry Farm in 2015, four years before HGTV came calling.
The Marrs family planted the berry farm to raise money for the charity “Help One Now.” The organization in Zimbabwe trains orphaned teenagers and young adults to help them transition into adulthood with the skills that they need to succeed.
But this year, Dave and Jenny’s “Berry Bloom Dinner” on May 1 raised enough money to fully fund the “Help One Now” farm school in Zimbabwe for a full year. Which means other charities that the couple love and support will benefit from money raised on u-pick nights at the Marrs Berry Farm.
In her Instagram post, Jenny Marrs wrote that the June 10 u-pick night proceeds were donated to @mwangazaint. Jenny writes, “we have worked with Tresor and his team for over 13 years and are grateful for the way they care well for the orphaned, vulnerable and at-risk kids and families in the DR Congo.”
The Marrs Berry Farm’s Instagram post specified that the u-pick night on Saturday, June 14 would raise money for @nwachildrensshelter. The post reads, “We love and support the work they’re doing each day to care for the vulnerable kids in our community and we’re honored to partner with them again at the farm this year! 🤍”
How to Be a Part of the Marrs Berry Farm’s U-Pick Nights
Each one gallon basket of blueberries is $20.
The farm has introduced a new “skip the line” option. Visitors can stop by @marrsmercantile or @marrsonmain to purchase a berry basket in advance.
Fans who want to be a part of the Marrs’ charity work but can’t make it to Arkansas to pick their own berries can purchase a “virtual berry basket” here.
