Jenny & Dave Marrs Are About to Open Their Farm to Visitors

“Fixer to Fabulous” stars Dave & Jenny Marrs often let viewers see life on their Bentonville, Arkansas farm through the tv screen.

But in a few weeks, fans can see the farm for themselves. And fill up a bucket with blueberries!

Long before they became HGTV stars, Dave and Jenny Marrs turned their focus to helping orphaned children in Zimbabwe by planting a berry farm to raise money for the charity “Help One Now.

The organization trains orphaned teenagers and young adults to help them transition into adulthood with the skills that they need to succeed.

While in recent years, Dave & Jenny only opened up the farm to guests for one day, this year, they’re opening the farm for the season.

Customers and fans can come pick their own blueberries. The Marrs say their blueberries typically ripen by mid-June and picking season will run into early July.

They plan to open the farm two to three days a week during the time the blueberries are ripe, to allow as many fans as possible to come to the farm and fill a bucket to help the Marrs’ charity. They’ll announce specific opening dates in the coming days once it becomes clear when the berries will be at their peak.

On May 1, Dave and Jenny hosted their annual “Berry Bloom Dinner” at the farm, and ended up raising enough money to fully fund “Help One Now’s” farm school for an entire year.

Marrs Family Builds Faith Into Every Design

The Berry Farm is just one of the ways the Marrs family lives out their deep faith.

Jenny Marrs recently put up an Instagram post about how she and her family build their faith into every single home they design, even if viewers never get to see it.

In the post, Jenny shared a video that shows her children writing Bible verses and prayers on the backs of paintings, on walls before they’re painted and on the wood framing of homes they build.

In the post, she writes, “Years ago, we started a tradition of praying over each room and writing scriptures on the walls of our new builds and renovations prior to paint day. It’s one of my favorite ways to bless a home.

As we continue to work on one of the renovations for this season, our family took some time today to pray and record God’s word on the walls of this special place. This one is incredibly unique. We started this project for our very dear friend and his wife and have had to unexpectedly grieve the passing of that same friend here on earth in the midst of the remodel. We don’t understand the timing of this loss or why this project happened right now.

Even still, one of my favorite verses is “And yet I still dare to Hope” (Lamentations 3:21) and we are working on still daring to hope in this place. The plans have changed but they were never our plans to begin with. So, we pray. We pause. We remember.

God gave me the word “delight” at the start of this year and, despite the murkiness in our understanding, we have to trust that, just like the wildflowers that sprung up outside after the spring rain, there are good seeds planted in this soil that will eventually surprise and delight us. 🙏🤍”

Jenny Marrs Has Been Open About Difficult Season of Life

Jenny has been open on Instagram about the family going through a “season of loss” right now. In addition to losing their beloved neighbor “Uncle Bob,” the family is also mourning a beloved sheep on their farm named Mary who died unexpectedly.

In fact, in one Instagram post, Jenny admitted nearly cancelling a surprise 20th anniversary party she had planned for husband Dave because of her grief and all the loss the family had been experiencing. But she changed her mind and went through with the celebration, writing that throwing the party ended up being the right decision, saying, “The thing about grief is it’s tricky. You can be so very sad and miss someone so deeply and you can also make room for joy and celebration. This morning, I’m holding all of it and praising the One who made sure that a boy in Colorado would meet a girl in Florida and that they would go on to build an abundant life together in Arkansas.

This life can be so hard and so beautiful and I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone other than Dave Marrs by my side. 🤍”

Marrs Family Celebrates Ten Years of Berries

Dave and Jenny Marrs started the Berry Farm in 2015, four years before HGTV came calling.

In a recent Instagram post, Jenny celebrated the farm’s ten-year anniversary, posting pictures of the day the farm was planted. On the farm’s website, Dave Marrs explains why they picked blueberries as the thing to plant.

“Blueberries are a crop that will yield fruit over a long period of time. If you nurture them and properly care for them, the investment will span decades. Just the way we are investing in the lives of the children in our program.

We aren’t looking to solve long-stemming issues of hunger and poverty with a short-term investment. We are committed to the long-haul with these kids… we want to sow seeds of truth and righteousness and love. The fruit that will result will be long-lasting: eternal. “
