HGTV’s “The Flip Off” may be a friendly competition between ex-spouses Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa, but that doesn’t mean the pair aren’t in it to win it.
In fact, Christina reveals she’s gone to great lengths to psyche out ex-husband Tarek to “throw him off his game.” In the latest episode of “The Flip Off,” the “Christina on the Coast” star teases a “new partner” who she knows will get under her ex’s skin.
Christina Enlists the Help of an Old Friend to Play Trick on Tarek
Christina enlists the help of old friend and “Flip or Flop” contractor Israel “Izzy” Battres for her plan. Haack persuades Battres to help her drop off a dresser at the house Tarek El Moussa and wife Heather are flipping for the competition.
Christina knows the pair will panic, thinking Izzy is her new partner on the show after her recent divorce precipitated third husband Josh Hall’s exit.
“I just love getting into Tarek’s head and messing with him, and I think Izzy is definitely along for the ride,” Haack enthuses. And Izzy, who has his own brand-new HGTV show “Izzy Does It,” agrees. When she explains her plan to Battres, he says it will “throw [Tarek] off his game.”
And it works. As soon as Izzy and Christina show up at the door, Tarek exclaims “Is that your new partner? Wow, you’re going down, Izzy!” “Traitor!” Heather says. Tarek continues, “You teamed up with her. You’re going down. I know where you live, I know where you work. I know everything. I know everything about you.”
“The Flip Off” Trio Get Real Addressing Headlines
Christina, Tarek and Heather shared a new video addressing headlines about their relationship, Christina’s divorce and other hot topics.
Tarek captioned the post “watch till the end..👀💀.” He’s referring to the last comment they read about not being able to tell Heather and Christina apart. Despite the tricks and digs, the reality trio say there is no unresolved baggage among them. They say their dynamic is built on respect and open communication, a necessity since Christina and Tarek share two children together.
Trio May Be Friends, But They All Want to Win
While the lines of communication may be wide open, there’s still plenty of competition between the HGTV stars.
In a press release from Warner Brothers Media, Christina says, “Tarek, Heather and I have all been through a lot of stuff together, and we are all highly competitive. Tarek is the self-proclaimed ‘best flipper in the world,’ but, honestly, give me a break. I can’t wait to smoke them at their own game.”
With more than 1,000 house flips to his credit, Tarek is feeling confident. In the same press release, Tarek answered back, “When it comes to distressed real estate, I own the space and Christina doesn’t stand a chance. It all comes down to this—who’s going to rise higher from the ashes of everything that we burned to the ground?”
Regardless of who wins the competition, they’re all winning right now. “The Flip Off” is HGTV’s highest rated freshman series premiere since 2022.
