Longtime HGTV star Christina Haack wants to clear the air about reports of a new man in her life.
On the night of December 5, 2024, the newly single interior designer — who filed for divorce from her third husband, Josh Hall, in July — used her Instagram Stories to call out “bizarre and ridiculous” media reports of her potentially finding new love with friends and co-workers she’s featured in her Instagram Stories.
“Slow news day,” she wrote in white text on a black background. “I should be able to post pictures with my MARRIED male friends and male co-workers without it being an omg look who she’s dating thing. So bizarre and ridiculous.”
“Dear the media…” Haack continued, “I have plenty of interesting things to say (especially when it comes to my latest divorce) – we don’t need to invent things. 😉”
Many Media Outlets Noted That Christina Haack & Contractor Looked ‘Cozy’

Multiple media outlets questioned Haack’s relationship status after she posted a photo in her Instagram Stories on December 2 of contractor Michael Lange putting up a Christmas tree at her home in Newport Beach, California.
Over the photo, she wrote, “There are still a few good men left. One of them right here single handedly hoisted this 11 foot tree into my home. Appreciate you, @capo_a_general”
On December 4, she posted another photo with Lange while filming at a garden center, posing with his arm around her, and wrote, “Putting in the work!”
Lange shared the photo to his Stories and wrote, “Shopping with the queen of @hgtv!”
Soon after Haack’s post, headlines began popping up that speculated about the nature of their relationship, with outlets from Page Six to People noting that she and Lange were looking “cozy” together.
Social Media Followers Had Lots to Say About Another Male Featured in an Instagram Photo
The buzz about Haack’s photos with Lange comes weeks after social media followers went wild over a photo she posted with another male friend on November 2.
“Happy Birthday to my brother from another mother,” she captioned the image of them with their arms wrapped around each others’ shoulders.
Tagging Jared Merrell, CEO of JStar Auto Group, she continued, “Thank you for ALWAYS being such a great friend. Love you and your family so much. So happy to be celebrating you all weekend.”
Despite Merrell’s 20-year marriage, many followers assumed Haack’s photo meant they were a new couple and weighed in on the matter, including one who wrote that she “shouldn’t have any physical contact” with any more men, referring to the fact Haack her marriages to to El Moussa, British-born TV personality Ant Anstead, and Hall haven’t worked out.
Though Haack is on good terms with her first two husbands, even filming HGTV’s “The Flip-Off” with them, she is still embroiled in bitter divorce proceedings with Hall. On November 21, she filed paperwork to replace her lawyer with powerful Hollywood divorce attorney Laura Wasser, which a source told Us Weekly was done in hopes of getting their settlement ironed out quickly.
