HGTV’s Christina Haack Shares Her Children’s Meaningful Letters to Her After Divorce

Although longtime HGTV star Christina Haack was treated to multiple flower bouquets on Mother’s Day 2025, the most meaningful gifts she received were likely the two heartfelt letters penned by her kids days after she finalized her divorce from third husband Josh Hall.

Haack posted a photo in her Stories on May 11 of the notes she received from 14-year-old daughter Taylor and nine-year-old son Brayden, whom she shares with first husband and fellow HGTV star Tarek El Moussa. She also shares five-year-old son Hudson with second husband Ant Anstead.

“You’ve gone through so many things year like the divorce,” wrote Taylor, whom HGTV fans saw grow up on shows like “Flip or Flop.” When Haack’s split from Hall was documented in the January premiere episode of “The Flip Off,” she told El Moussa that their kids had urged her to leave Hall, concerned that he was “not nice” to her.

Haack’s eldest kids gushed over their mom in their handwritten Mother’s Day letters. Taylor filled the inside of a greeting card with a meaningful message and doodled hearts for her mom.

“Happy Mother’s day to the best mom in the world,” she wrote. “You’ve gone through so much this year like the divorce and I’m so proud of the way you held your head high and remembered your worth.”

“I admire you so much,” Taylor continued, “and the way you show me how I can be a great mom in the future because if I’m even half as great as you are I’ll know I’ve done something right.”

Celebrating their mother-daughter friendship, Taylor also wrote, “I’m so glad we have such a close bond because even though your my mom it feels like your my best friend too. I love how we can always laugh at bray together or just to each other about anything. I hope you know how much I love and appreciate you and especially on this day. Your so beautiful inside and out and I’m so excited to make more amazing memories with you.”

She ended her note with “I love you so so so so much” and jokingly signed her card, “Love your favorite child, Taylor.”

Haack and Hall filed for divorce in July after nearly three years of marriage, and fought in court and on social media for months before reaching a settlement in early May. On an episode of her show “Christina on the Coast” in March, Haack told her best friend, Cassie Schienle, how relieved she and her kids felt not having Hall around anymore.

“The house is so much better, the kids are so happy,” Haack reflected. “Like, everyone in this household is thriving and the kids truly are doing great. Everyone’s just doing better since he’s gone… just all that negative energy.”

Brayden’s note may have been a school project, as it was written in cursive on notebook paper and titled “How My Mom Influences Me.” On May 9, Haack shared a photo from a special Mother’s Day tea at Brayden’s school, which she attended with Tarek’s second wife and “The Flip Off” co-star Heather Rae El Moussa, who is heavily involved in the kids’ lives as their bonus mom. Haack shared that they both received “sweet notes and lots of love” from Brayden.

In his note to her, Brayden wrote, “My mom influences me by being kind, she’s always kind to others! Being respectful. She’s always being respectful with everything and everyone around her. Being humble. She’s always humble to our family. Always loving. She’s always so loving to us!”

The nine-year-old continued, “Being amazing. She’s such an amazing mom! Being helpful. She’s always helping me! Always caring. She’s always caring for us. I have the best mom I hope I’m like her when I’m older!”

Although the El Moussas competed with Haack in “The Flip Off,” they supported her behind-the-scenes during her split from Hall. On Mother’s Day, they sent her two bouquets of beautiful flowers — one signed from Brayden and Taylor, and the other from them. Haack shared photos of the flowers in her Instagram Stories, along with a photo of another bouquet she received for the occasion from her new beau, business executive Christopher Larocca.
