Christina Haack Reveals How Josh Hall Leaving ‘The Flip Off’ Changed the Show

Christina Haack recently revealed how her new HGTV show changed dramatically once her ex, Josh Hall, left. In a new interview with Jeff Lewis, Haack shares that things absolutely changed for the better.

Christina Haack Shares Filming ‘The Flip Off’ Was ‘So Much Better’ Without Josh Hall

Haack and Hall filmed together three times for HGTV’s “The Flip Off” before they split.

During the January 22 episode of the “Jeff Lewis Has Issues” podcast, Haack remarked, “But the show must go on.” She much preferred doing the show without Hall, it turned out.

“And it was so much better without him,” she explained.

Haack and Hall started dating in 2021 and were married the same year. They split in July 2024.

“We don’t get along,” Haack said. “We’re not getting along.” According to the HGTV star, the marriage lasted “way longer than I wanted to stay in it.”

The couple are now heading to trial to settle their divorce. “He doesn’t want to do mediation,” Haack explained.

“They haven’t ordered me [to pay him] yet, but he’s been asking. I’ve already had to give a little something,” she shared. “But then he bought a Bentley … But he also doesn’t have a job. No one knows how he’s living right now.”

‘The Flip Off’ Competitor Heather El Moussa Agrees It’s Better Without Josh Hall

Haack isn’t the only one happier without Hall on the HGTV competition series, which would have had Haack and Hall competing against Tarek El Moussa and Heather El Moussa. Haack and Tarek, who share two children, were married in 2009, separated in 2016, and finalized their divorce in 2018.

In a January 2025 interview with Us Weekly, Heather Rae explained how the dynamic on the show improved after Hall left.

“Better. Not to be mean, but he definitely didn’t have the best personality,” Heather Rae shared. “So it’s like a breath of fresh air. And [Christina is] in a really good place.”

Haack told Us Weekly that some of the issues revolved around Hall’s insecurities. “Josh was very hard to film with. He didn’t get it,” she explained.

The HGTV star shared, “He’d always get upset with me, like ‘Oh, my gosh, you did this’ or ‘You did that.’ And I’m like, ‘I’m making a TV show.’ Ultimately, it was better that he left after episode one because the show would’ve sucked.”

In November 2024, Haack told ET about the challenges she dealt with during filming. “It was not fun, to be honest. I did not enjoy filming with him, so having split up made this, to be honest, so much easier and so much better in every way,” she explained.
