Christina Haack & Heather Rae El Moussa Hit Red Carpet Together & Tease New Alliance

What a difference a year makes. On April 30, 2025, HGTV stars Christina Haack and Heather Rae El Moussa happily hit the red carpet together at a special screening of “The Flip Off,” held to encourage Hollywood insiders to consider nominating the freshman show for a 2025 Emmy.

The two not only developed a tight bond while filming the show, which premiered in January 2025, but are considering teaming up for a future season. It’s a plot twist no one could have imagined before filming began, given that Haack was married to longtime HGTV star Tarek El Moussa for nine years and competed on “The Flip Off” against him and Heather, his second wife.

In a video Heather posted to her Instagram Stories, she and Christina posed arm-in-arm for photos at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood. While they smiled for photographers, Heather poked fun at Tarek, who was off-camera.

“Babe, we cut you out,” she told him. “Bye! ‘The Flip Off’ — us against you.”

Tarek said something intelligible in the background and Heather quipped, “There’s a really good chance then,” and Christina said, “Yep.”

Over the video, Heather wrote, “🔊 👀 well there is an idea!”

In a separate video of the trio answering questions onstage at the event, which Tarek posted to Instagram, Heather explained how she and Christina became closer through the filming of the show. They have been in each others’ lives for years, co-parenting Christina and Tarek’s two children, 14-year-old daughter Taylor and nine-year-old son Brayden, but “The Flip Off” brought their relationship to a new level.

When HGTV first announced “The Flip Off,” the El Moussas were set to compete with Haack and her third husband, Josh Hall, as the two couples each flipped a home with a different challenge each week. When Haack and Hall broke up at the beginning of filming, she decided to carry on alone, working with her team of design and construction partners to compete against Heather and Tarek.

“Christina and I, you know, we co-parent but we never worked together,” Heather explained of her nervousness for the show. “So I’m like, ‘Are we going to get along? Is this going to change our dynamic? Because we get along so well for the kids, and we co-parent so well, and how are we going to do filming this show?'”

“Honestly, it brought us closer together,” Heather continued, as Christina nodded. “We got to know each other on a deeper level, of a friendship level. And before, you know, we were talking about the kids and it was, like, the homework and soccer and sports, but working together … we had a lot of fun getting to know each other.”

The first season delivered huge ratings for HGTV, so a second season is likely — although it remains to be seen if Christina and Heather would actually team up for a new round of competition.

Their relationship outside the show, however, is clearly blossoming as the El Moussas spent Easter weekend on vacation with Haack, their kids, and Haack’s boyfriend, business executive Chris Larocca.

The “Christina on the Coast” star brought Larocca to the Emmys FYC event on April 30. Videos shared by her and the El Moussas in their Instagram Stories showed the two couples arriving at the event together and laughing together during an after-party.

Captioning a photo of the two couples together, Heather wrote, “We have all come so far in our careers and personal life, separately and together. Proud of us for coming together for this incredible show and doing this journey together. Thank you to @hgtv and all of you out there that have supported us throughout our wild 😝 ride. It’s beautiful chaos haha!”
