Christina Haack Addresses Whether ‘The Flip Off’ Contributed to Breakup With Josh Hall

HGTV star Christina Haack is opening up about her separation from her now estranged husband Josh Hall.

During a January 2025 interview with Us Weekly, alongside her ex-husband Tarek El Moussa and his wife Heather El Moussa, Haack spoke about filming the upcoming series “The Flip Off.” She noted that Hall was intended to be her partner in the competition series, which also stars Heather and Tarek El Moussa. She said, however, that he ceased filming once they broke up in July 2024 after being married for two years.

When Haack was asked if she felt “like filming ‘The Flip Off’ contributed to [her] breakup” with Hall, she replied, “It probably just sped it up.” She referenced that she believes Hall felt insecure about her dynamic with her ex-husband, whom she divorced in 2018.

“Tarek and I had filmed together forever. We have kids. Somebody with more confidence would be able to say, ‘This is my wife, but yes, she does this for TV. She was filming with Tarek when I met her,'” said Haack during the Us Weekly interview. “There was a rationale there that didn’t make sense. You know what you signed up for. I’m your wife, and I’m choosing you, but you’re choosing to make my life harder over insecurities.”

She also said that filming “The Flip Off” became easier once Hall left the series. According to Haack, Hall would give her “the silent treatment for a week” if she “would laugh at Tarek.”

“Josh was very hard to film with. He didn’t get it. He’d always get upset with me, like ‘Oh, my gosh, you did this’ or ‘You did that.’ And I’m like, ‘I’m making a TV show.’ Ultimately, it was better that he left after episode one because the show would’ve sucked,” said Haack to the publication.

Haack made similar comments about her relationship with Hall in a November 2024 interview with Entertainment Tonight. She said “it was not fun” to film ‘The Flip Off’ with Hall.”

“When someone is insecure by you and doesn’t like to see you win, that really puts a damper on everything. I feel like I wasn’t shining as bright to try to not make him feel emasculated,” said Haack during the Entertainment Tonight interview.

She also said that Hall felt “jealous over Tarek,” as he believed they had a flirty dynamic. She said, however, that she views her ex-husband, the father of her eldest children, Brayden and Taylor, as a sibling.

Josh Hall Has a New Girlfriend

Hall confirmed he is dating Stephanie Gabrys in a January 13 Instagram Story, as reported by Us Weekly. A source told the publication that Hall is “trying to live a more private life” following his breakup with Haack.

“He hasn’t made a show of the relationship, but it’s not a secret. Josh is just low-key. He is very happy with his life and looking forward to 2025 and what’s on the horizon. This is the happiest he’s been in some time,” said the source to Us Weekly.
