HGTV‘s new series “The Flip Off” is coming soon and Christina Haack, Tarek El Moussa, and Heather Rae El Moussa are giving fans a glimpse at what to expect. Haack teased it as HGTV’s “biggest competition show” and fans are eager to watch all the drama play out onscreen.
‘The Flip Off’ Promises Competition and Drama
“The Flip Off” pits Haack against his ex, Tarek El Moussa, and his wife. HGTV teased the new series in a January 15 Instagram post, giving fans some behind-the-scenes scoop. “‘The Flip Off’ is going to be the biggest competition show to ever hit HGTV,” Haack explains in the video.
Tarek states, “I never thought I would be filming with Christina again, but somehow this miracle has happened and we are competing against each other in ‘The Flip Off’ to find out who is the number one flipper in the world.”
Haack promises the show will be “high stakes,” with “drama” and “high design.” She explains, “There’s going to be all the things that fans enjoy.”
In the video, Tarek gives some details about the show’s concept. “In order to win ‘The Flip Off,’ it’s based on return on investment,” he explains. “If we create the more beautiful house, but our numbers don’t work, we’re going to lose. And winning is number one priority.”
Haack reveals the challenges that are involved with flipping. “The hardest part about the flipping process is finding the house,” she shares. “We want to get the best priced house, which is also the worst house in the worst condition — and then, of course, sell it for the most money.”
Of course, the stress levels are high. Haack notes, “All of us are highly competitive. No one wants to lose.”
Tarek adds, “I know Christina — she wants to win. And we want to win too. So that tension is going to be there.”
“I think people love ‘Flip or Flop,’ and bringing it back like this and also making it a competition? I think people are going to love it,” Haack shares. “This is going to be the best show HGTV has ever seen.”
“The Flip Off” premieres on January 29 on HGTV.

“During the six-episode battle, each team will each attempt to find, buy, renovate and flip a house for the biggest financial gain. The competitors’ skills and budget will be put to the test as they renovate the kitchen, main suite, living room, guest suite, extra bedroom and exterior of their chosen properties. The team who comes out on top wins ultimate bragging rights — and a first-class vacation paid for by the loser.”
