HGTV star Christina Haack is sharing her thoughts about her ex-husband Ant Anstead’s girlfriend, actress Renée Zellweger.
In a January 2025 interview with Us Weekly, Haack said her relationship with Anstead, the father of her son, Hudson, has recently improved. She also said that she is not as close to Zellweger as she is to her first ex-husband, Tarek El Moussa‘s wife, Heather El Moussa. She said, however, that she thinks highly of Zellweger, describing her as a kind person.
“Yeah. She’s great. It’s not like Heather and I, where we spend a lot of time together. It’s mostly just on the soccer field or at drop-off, but she’s super nice. She loves Hudson, and Hudson loves her. And she and Ant are happy,” said Haack to Us Weekly.
Ant Anstead Spoke About Meeting His Girlfriend in 2021
Anstead and Zellweger met after filming a 2021 episode of “Celebrity IOU: Joyride.” In a 2021 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Anstead said he had an appreciation for “Celebrity IOU: Joyride” for introducing him to his girlfriend.
Anstead also said he was impressed with how much Zellweger loves cars, which he discovered while filming the show. In addition, he said he appreciated that she has remained private about her personal life, despite being a long-time celebrity.
Christina Haack Said Ending Her Marriage to Josh Hall Help Improve Her Relationship With Ant Anstead
While speaking to Us Weekly in January 2025, Haack said her relationship with Anstead improved after she separated from her third husband Josh Hall in July 2024. She said that she had limited communication with Anstead, whom she divorced in 2021, while she was married to Hall.
“When Josh and I split up, I hadn’t really talked to Ant in years. The whole time I was with Josh, I would worry [thinking about how] Hudson’s sports [games] are coming up, we’re going to have to be on the field together, how’s Josh going to handle it?” said Haack to Us Weekly.
According to Haack, Anstead gave her kind words after her July 2024 breakup.
“[After we broke up] I was dropping Hudson off at Ant’s house, and he gave me a big hug and was like, ‘I’m here for you and I’m so sorry you’re going through this.’ He said, ‘I feel like Josh is the source of the problem [and why] I couldn’t communicate.’ Now we’re back on track,” said Haack during the interview.
Christina Haack Spoke About Filming With Josh Hall for ‘The Flip Off’
Haack filmed with Hall for the upcoming HGTV series, “The Flip Off,” which also stars Tarek El Moussa and Heather Rae El Moussa. While speaking to Entertainment Tonight in November 2024, Haack noted that Hall left the show after their breakup. She said that the filming experience improved after Hall’s exit. According to Haack, Hall was jealous of her friendship with Tarek El Moussa, whom she divorced in 2018.
“It was not fun to be honest. I did not enjoy filming with him. So having split up made this to be, honestly, so much easier. And so much better,” said Haack to the publication.
