Chip & Joanna Gaines Keep Their Marriage Strong With ‘Fun & Hilarious’ Activity

Chip and Joanna Gaines are total couple goals. The former HGTV stars keep the spark alive in their marriage with new activities they can do together. One bonus: they’re getting physically stronger along the way.

Joanna Gaines Said She & Chip ‘Show Up for Each Other’

In a March 2025 interview with Us Weekly, Joanna gave some insight into how they do a lot together but have also found new activities they can enjoy as a couple.

“There’s really no shortage of us doing things together,” Joanna shared. She pointed to their commitment to working out together as an example.

Joanna explained, “But what I’ve loved most about this new rhythm of working out together is that it’s new and different for us, but it’s also been interesting to see that the way we show up for each other in our little garage gym is the same way we always have at the office, or with a new project.”

The workouts are paying off physically as well, with Joanna noting she’s “never felt stronger.”

The Magnolia empire owner shared, “Getting to encourage each other to show up well, to work hard and do our best is how we’ve always worked together in business, so it’s been fun to see how our relationship is just consistent, no matter what we’re tackling.”

Chip & Joanna Find New Ways to Connect

With their kids growing up and some leaving the nest, Chip and Joanna have found themselves in a new chapter in life.

“That’s part of where working out came in, and we also just started taking dancing lessons, which is another fun and hilarious thing for us to do,” Joanna explained.

She added, “Really, just continuing to find new ways to partner up is what keeps us strong, so we’re having fun with what that looks like this season.”

Their youngest son Crew, 6, also keeps things interesting for the family. Joanna shared how his sense of wonder and adventure has opened her eyes in new ways. It also inspired her new children’s book, “The Wonder You See.”

She told Us Weekly in March, “In the first few years of his life, I took my foot off the gas for the first time in what felt like forever, and in the years since, Crew has continued to break through my tendency toward busy and hurry.”

She added, “He is constantly reminding me to look up.”
