Chip and Joanna Gaines found out what it was like to be on the other side of a “Fixer Upper” renovation when their personal trainer made over their home gym. Check out the former HGTV stars’ amazing new workout space.
Chip & Joanna Gaines Get a ‘Fixer Upper’ Style Reveal
Chip and Joanna are the proud owners of a new home gym space. On June 18, their personal trainer, Don Saladino, took to Instagram to share a video of the moment he revealed the couple’s workout room.
“GYM REVEAL, Waco, Texas. Thank you to Life Fitness, Hammer Strength, Lisa, & Cettina for all your effort in getting this fun project put together,” Saladino wrote in the caption. “It’s amazing what you can do with 219 sq ft. If you think you don’t have enough room, guess again. Take a look at this before & after.”
He continued, “A huge thank you to Joanna & Chip for just being awesome. Love you both.”
The video included text that explained, “POV: My best impersonation of ‘Jo and Chip reveal.'”
“I started training Chip and Jo close to a year ago,” Saladino explained. “It was time to give their gym a little bit of a makeover. I’m going to walk you through and show you the before and then the after. Look how good it looks.”
He opened the door to the gym to reveal how it looked before. “Fantastic space, great ceiling height, and we’re going to convert this into a full gym,” he explained.
The equipment was delivered and the dumbbells, treadmill, and other workout machines were placed in the space. When it was time to show Chip and Joanna, Saladino noted, “I feel like I’m channeling ‘Fixer Upper’ right now. It’s time to get Chip and Jo and show them the reveal.”
He asked, Chip, “Are you ready?” and Joanna chimed in with a familiar phrase: “Ready to see your fixer upper?'”
She added, “This is more fun, being on this side.”
Saladino noted, “I honestly feel like I’m like a parent on Christmas.”
Chip & Joanna Test Out the New Gym
Chip and Joanna were thrilled with the results, with Chip excitedly saying, “Check this out … look at this,” before giving the treadmill a spin.
Their trainer shared, “I’m really proud of this … look what we did,” then gave Chip a warning: “Don’t break it on the first day.”
Joanna marveled at how the space didn’t look smaller even with more stuff in the room. “It feels bigger in here,” she noted. Then she tried out some moves to get a feel for the space.
People lit up the comments section to give Saladino praise for perfectly transforming the space.
One fan noted, “I don’t know them personally, but based off of the hours of my life I have spent becoming best friends with them through the TV, I feel qualified to say that ‘don’t break it on the first day’ is the most Chip Gaines thing ever. (Gym looks amazing!)”
