Chip Gaines’ latest Instagram post has fans wondering why he’s building a fast food restaurant.
The former HGTV star posted a picture of a Bobcat on a dirt lot with the wood framing for a building the background. In the post, Chip wrote, “Working hard in Waco today building a QSR.. and of course @bobcatcompany is here making us all look good.”
QSR stands for “Quick Service Restaurant.”
Chip and Joanna Gaines opened their Waco, Texas restaurant Magnolia Table in 2018. They expanded to serve dinner just last year. But the “Fixer Upper” stars have not announced any plans to open a fast food establishment.
Chip didn’t offer any details about the project despite fans commenting with questions.
Chip Gaines Talks Fame & Family
Chip Gaines recently sat down with he and wife Joanna’s personal trainer Don Saladino for his “Stronger” podcast.
While on the program, Chip revealed that while he loves the journey the couple has been on since “Fixer Upper” shot them to fame in 2013, if it all went away, he’d be fine.
“If all hell broke loose tomorrow and I had to choose between fame, or success or this business and my wife and my kids, all of this would instantly go away. My wife and my kids would be back on the farm, raising animals,” Chip told Don.
He went on, “Jo and I, we believe we can have our cake and eat it too. In the sense that I can be successful and I can have a healthy marriage and family. But I will say if I find myself to be mistaken about that, then, no problem. I’ll have a great marriage and a great family and that’ll be sufficient.”
Chip Gaines Says He’s Surprised By How He & Joanna’s Roles Have Shifted
While Chip and Joanna Gaines’ rise to fame has made them both household names, Chip admits he expected to be the bigger star of the two.
In an interview with Parade, Chip said, “As I think about Jo and this incredible opportunity that God has blessed us with, I mean — it’s just like, I thought I was going to be a superstar. But it turned out the universe had a totally different idea in mind, and she has become just this incredible leader.”
Chip went on, “I’m so proud of her … We’ve definitely evolved in our older age in almost a sarcastic way. Like, I’ve become a little more bashful, I’m a tad insecure, dare I say. And Jo has become this force to be reckoned with.”
And if you think Chip minds ceding the spotlight to his wife of 22 years, think again. Chip enthused, “She’s done a couple of cooking shows without me. She’s done a show called ‘Mini Reni’ without me. And it’s just like I’ve launched this superstar into the universe and I could not be more proud.”
