Eagle-eyed fans of HGTV’s hit competition show “Rock the Block” are asking if that was Chip Gaines they saw making a brief cameo in an episode of season six!
And that even includes at least one HGTV star!
In a scene where winning designer Alison Victoria enthuses to her team about picking “the right side of the street,” giving her bathroom a mountain view, a team member walks through the shot helping carry a countertop. And that team member looks shockingly like “Fixer Upper” star Chip Gaines.
In fact, “100 Day Dream Home” star Brian Kleinschmidt was the first to point out the uncanny resemblance when HGTV posted a clip of the scene to their Instagram account. “Is that @chipgaines twin brother?” he commented on the post.
Fans were quick to agree. One wrote, “”I’m not the only one who thought the same thing! I was questioning why Chip is working with Alison.”
Another commented, “Sure could at least be Chip Gaines cousin maybe?”
‘Rock the Block’ Season Six Contestants Weigh In
“Rock the Block” season six rookies Kamohai and Tristyn Kalama jumped on the bandwagon, replying to Kleinschmidt’s comment with laughing emojis.
The Kalamas got some HGTV love of their own in another post from the “Rock the Block” season finale.
HGTV put up a clip on Instagram of Kamohai’s father flying in from Hawaii to bless their “Rock the Block” house in Utah before the final appraisal.
“Fixer to Fabulous” star Jenny Marrs commented about the touching video, writing “I love this! ❤️”
Mystery Man in ‘Rock the Block’ Remains Unknown
While we still don’t know the name of the mystery man working on Alison Victoria and Michel Smith Boyd’s “Rock the Block” crew, we do know this.
Chip Gaines doesn’t have a twin. He doesn’t even have a brother. Chip has one sister named Shannon Braun according to Country Living.
We also know that Chip Gaines is in the middle of a busy season of life in Waco, Texas that would likely make it tough for him to sneak away to Salt Lake City, Utah to put in an uncredited cameo on his former network.
18-year-old daughter Ella Rose Gaines just graduated from high school and will soon go off to college, just as older brother Drake Gaines did two-years ago.
And wife Joanna just debuted her latest series on the Magnolia Network called “Mini Reni.”
Meanwhile Chip himself has partnered with Bobcat for some charity work, providing heavy equipment to a former solider who is rescuing horses at his “Hoof Haven Sanctuary” in Gatesville, Texas, less than an hour from where Chip and Joanna Gaines live and run their Magnolia Empire.
