HGTV stars Chelsea and Cole DeBoer have a busy household in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, with four kids and a blossoming home decor business. But things could get a lot busier if they decide to add another child to the mix.
During an interview with Philadelphia’s FOX29 on July 22, 2025, the “Down Home Fab” stars couple laughed when asked whether a fifth child was in the cards.
“I mean, we never say no,” Cole replied, admitting he’s worried about the added chaos a baby would bring. But he said he’s opened to the idea a bit more.
HGTV’s Chelsea DeBoer is More Open to Another Baby Than Her Husband

During their interview on FOX29, Cole responded to the question of a fifth child by adding, “You know I’m not gonna close that door, but it’s just, like, barely cracked open.”
“His is like, cracked open,” Chelsea smiled. “Mine’s a little more (open).”
When the couple met in 2014, Chelsea was already a mom to 5-year-old daughter Aubree, whom she shares with ex Adam Lind. The former couple and baby Aubree were featured on MTV’s “Teen Mom.”
The DeBoers welcomed their first child, son Watson, in January 2017. Daughter Layne arrived in August 2018 and daughter Walker in January 2021.
During a segment on the third season of “Down Home Fab,” which wrapped aired its finale on July 15, Chelsea said in a confessional to producers, “I go back and forth on wanting a fifth kid every other day.”
At the time, Cole was still hesitant, telling her, “It’s chaos right now, okay, with the four we have. Imagine all this with an infant?” But that only made Chelsea swoon, “Awwww!”
Cole DeBoer Admits Their Family Life is ‘Very Unorganized’
In May, the DeBoers told TV Insider that juggling their show, brick-and-mortar “Down Home Fab” store in Sioux Falls, and their four kids was — as Cole said on the show — constant chaos.
“Very unorganized, but we get it done,” he told the outlet. “I’ve learned to not have a schedule, like she said. We just tackle each day as it comes because there’s something new every day. We divide and conquer and block off our weekends. Sometimes we need to connect with our family and make time for that.”
HGTV has not announced whether “Down Home Fab” has been renewed for a fourth season, but Chelsea told TV Insider that after her years on MTV and HGTV, she’d love to continue making reality TV.
“I would love to,” she said. “I don’t really know any different. I was 17 when we first started filming, and I do enjoy it. Especially now being on HGTV, this is just such a positive experience. I enjoy it. I wake up so excited every day to go film. I love the crew and all the people we work with. When you call that work, isn’t that the goal?”
