HGTV Cancels Shows Starring Christina Haack, Tarek & Heather Rae El Moussa: Reports

Although eight HGTV series have been either canceled or delayed over the last four weeks, it still came as a surprise on July 15, 2025, when Us Weekly reported that at least two more shows have been cut from the network’s schedule.

A source informed the outlet that Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa’s show “The Flipping El Moussas” has “not been renewed” after two seasons. The outlet did not mention the fate of Tarek’s solo show, “Flipping 101.”

Meanwhile, his ex-wife Christina Haack’s show, “Christina on the Coast” has also been cut after six seasons, the source told Us Weekly. A source also confirmed the news to People. Christina’s other show, “Christina in the Country,” ended in 2024 after two seasons amid her split from third husband Josh Hall, who now lives near their Tennessee property while she remains in California.

What Happens Next for Christina Haack & The El Moussas?

Christina and Tarek are among the longest-tenured stars on HGTV, after starring together on “Flip or Flop” which premiered in 2012. Their latest show cancellations aren’t likely to end their presence on the network.

In early 2025, Christina, Tarek and Heather starred on the top-rated “The Flip Off,” competing against each other in a home-flipping contest. According to the source who spoke to Us Weekly, the show is expected to be “back for a second season, but there is no filming date or air date yet.”

Heather, a real estate broker and entrepreneur who was part of Netflix’s “Selling Sunset” cast before meeting Tarek and joining HGTV, told EntertainmentNow in late February that the premise of “The Flipping El Moussas” was not easy to film for TV in the current market.

In order to do a third season, she said at the time, “There’s things we have to work out with the network. You know, flipping houses takes a long time, and you run into so many issues that are unexpected. Permits in certain cities are really hard to get. You think you’re going to be in and out of a house and a project, and then, you know, you get a ‘stop working’ notice, or you can’t get a permit for moving that one window. It’s just so many things that you’re not expecting and out of our control.”

Christina, meanwhile, wrote in a post on her 42nd birthday, on July 9, that she was looking forward to a year that includes “a new season of shooting 📺” and “bigger & better design projects.” Her first champagne line is due out in late 2025, and she has previously teased her hope of filming at a vineyard.

The cancellations of “Christina on the Coast” and “The Flipping El Moussas” come on the heels of multiple other shows not being renewed, reported by the series’ stars and stunning fans.

On June 17, Keith Bynum shared in his Instagram Stories that his and partner Evan Thomas’ Detroit-based show “Bargain Block” had been discontinued after four seasons, noting that although HGTV had renewed it for a fifth season in December, executives changed their mind in February.

On June 23, former “Flip or Flop” contractor Izzy Battres informed fans in the comment section of one of his posts that his new series, “Izzy Does It,” was not renewed for a second season.

The next day, on June 24, married couple Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson announced that they’d returned from vacation to learn that their show, “Married to Real Estate,” had not been renewed for a fourth season. They were later shocked to learn that the show had been nominated for a 2025 Emmy.

New Kids on the Block member Jonathan Knight disclosed via social media on June 25 that HGTV also decided not to renew his show, “Farmhouse Fixer” for a fourth season, shocking many fans.

On the July 1 edition of Alison Victoria’s podcast, she revealed that “Battle on the Beach,” her show with Ty Pennington and Taniya Nayak, had also not been renewed after four seasons.

Meanwhile, two “Property Brothers” shows that were expected to premiere in July have been delayed, and only half of Nicole Curtis’ four-episode “Rehab Addict” season aired, with her insisting it was her choice and that the other two episodes will air sometime in the fall.
