‘Queer Eye’ Star Bobby Berk Teases Future at HGTV: ‘Can’t Wait’

It looks like Jeremiah Brent and Bobby Berk may be trading spaces! On April 10, 2025, Berk, who spent six years as the home design expert on Netflix’s popular makeover show “Queer Eye” before leaving in November 2023, teased on social media that he’s looking forward to a bright future at HGTV.

Brent, meanwhile, was confirmed in February 2024 as Berk’s replacement on “Queer Eye” after starring in two HGTV series with his husband, fellow designer Nate Berkus — “Nate & Jeremiah: Save My House” and “The Nate & Jeremiah Home Project.” With Brent now happily part of the “Queer Eye” crew and Berk about to make his HGTV debut as a judge on “Rock the Block,” the stage has been set for him to join the network as its newest star.

Fans Thrilled as Bobby Berk Hints at Bright Future With HGTV

As EntertainmentNOW previously reported, Berk will serve as the celebrity judge on the April 14 season premiere of “Rock the Block.” On April 10, HGTV posted a Q&A video with Berk on social media, filmed in the fall while he was on the “Rock the Block” set in Salt Lake City.

Noting that he “could not be more excited” to join the production, Berk said he could relate to all the competitors’ emotions and exhaustion since he regularly transformed homes in just three days on “Queer Eye.”

In the comment section, Berk insinuated that his appearance on “Rock the Block” is just the beginning of his work with HGTV, writing, “Yay!! Where it all started! Can’t wait for this season and for what’s to come with me and HGTV ❤️❤️❤️”

Fans are thrilled to see Berk joining the HGTV family in any fashion, flooding the network’s post with celebratory comments, including one who wrote, “Cannot wait to watch this!!!! And much more of Bobby!”

When another fan wrote, “I’m so happy that you’re going to be on the show! You need your own HGTV show. You’re so talented ❤️,” Berk replied, “stay tuned 😉”

Inside Bobby Berk’s 1st Assignment on HGTV

Berk will make his HGTV debut during the two-hour “Rock the Block” season premiere airing on April 14. Four pairs of celebrities familiar to HGTV fans will compete, with veteran stars up against rookies whose HGTV shows have only been on for a couple of seasons.

The veterans on season six are Alison Victoria (“Windy City Rehab”) and Michel Smith Boyd (“Luxe for Less”), and Jonathan and Jordan Knight (“Farmhouse Fixer” and its recent “Camp Revamp” spinoff). The HGTV newbies are Chelsea and Cole DeBoer (“Down Home Fab”) and Kamohai and Tristyn Kalama (“Renovation Aloha”).

During the two-hour season six premiere, the four duos will plan and renovate their identical homes’ kitchens, dining rooms, and living areas all at once. HGTV said Berk will judge the “heart of the home,” deciding which team delivers maximum functionality and style with their designs.

“You know, I really want to see some unique creativity,” he said in the social media video promoting his upcoming appearance. “Often in this design world, we kind of see the same things over and over again, so I think the one that’s gonna stand out to me the most is the one that really is different.”

“Rock the Block” premieres on April 14 at 9 p.m. Eastern time.
