‘Bargain Block’ Fans Stunned by Keith Bynum’s News About Show’s Future: ‘Unbelievable’

As word spreads of HGTV’s decision to reverse its season five renewal of “Bargain Block,” fans have expressed shock and dismay on social media over the Detroit-based show going away, calling the move “insane” and even “barbaric.”

On June 17, 2025, “Bargain Block” star Keith Bynum revealed in his Instagram Stories that although the show was initially renewed in December, the network decided in February to pull its plans for a fifth season, leaving him and Evan Thomas, his co-star and partner of 12 years, in a financial lurch.

Bynum shared in a video that several new episodes of “Bargain Block” will begin airing on Thomas’ birthday, August 20, but noted that “they are the remainder of season four because they did not renew the show for season five.”
