Longtime HGTV star Alison Victoria is selling the unique Chicago “dream home” she created for herself in 2023 and fans can’t quite believe it.
It’s not the first time she’s tried to let go of the property, though. The “Windy City Rehab” star put her 7,000 square foot dream home on the market in April 2024, according to Realtor.com. But by that August, she changed her mind, telling the outlet it no longer felt like the right time sell.
“The election’s coming up, things need to settle down, everyone needs to get on solid ground, and then we’ll see what this next year brings,” she said at the time.
On February 11, 2025, the Chicago native revealed via Instagram that she’s made the “bittersweet” decision to list the home again, ready to say goodbye to the property fans watched her painstakingly create on her 2023 spin-off, “Windy City Rehab: Alison’s Dream Home.”
“I’m selling my dream home in Chicago,” Victoria captioned a video tour of the Parisian-inspired space. “It’s bittersweet, but time for the next chapter.”
Alison Victoria’s Fans Question Why She Would Sell Chicago Dream Home
“It’s time for my dream to be someone else’s dream,” Victoria says in the video created with her realtor to promote the four-bedroom, four-bath home. Located in the heart of Chicago, it includes a “courtyard atrium with heated marble floors, an 80-foot skylight, and a unique ‘spool’-a combined spa and pool,” according to the listing on Zillow.
“There’s joy in every corner,” Victoria wrote in her Instagram caption, “from movie nights in the theater room with its built-in candy bar and mini fridge to quiet mornings in the expansive home office or evenings watching the changing light fill the atrium. It’s a space designed for living fully and beautifully.”
Many fans were shocked to see Victoria’s Instagram announcement, including one who wrote, “”WHAT??? the place you’d never sell?”
Another exclaimed, “I can’t believe you’re selling!! Literally a dream 😍”
Victoria has not responded to all the fans expressing their dismay over her leaving the home they watched her build, but it’s likely she no longer spends enough time in Chicago to warrant having a 7,000 square foot home there.
Victoria’s spending a great deal of time in Las Vegas, where she also has a home, shooting a new HGTV spin-off series, “Sin City Rehab.” In addition, she’s been traveling the world with her beau, filmmaker Brandt Andersen, after going public with their relationship in June.
Alison Victoria Invested $1.2 Million Into Renovating Warehouse Building Into Her Dream Home
Victoria’s Chicago home is listed for $2,999,999, a drop from the $3.5 million it was listed for in the spring of 2024, according to the Chicago Sun Times, which also reported that Victoria invested $1.2 million to renovate the building.
HGTV fans may remember watching that huge undertaking as Victoria, who grew up in Chicago, completely renovated the 1927 bowtruss building — basically a warehouse — on her spin-off show in 2023. She said on the show that with her investment, she would need it to eventually sell for “at least” $2.5 million “so I’m not digging myself into a hole financially.”
Victoria sold a loft she owned in Atlanta to help fund the project, per HGTV, and she told Entertainment Tonight in August 2023 that she borrowed $400,000 from two friends since she couldn’t secure a loan for the out-of-the-box space.
But it was worth all the hoops she had to jump through to make it her dream home, she told ET, insisting, “I’m gonna pinch myself every day that I live here.”
