“Rock the Block” season six champion Alison Victoria isn’t sitting around staring at her new street sign.
The “Windy City Rehab” designer is too busy launching her brand new podcast.
And like the designer herself, the podcast gives a bit of an edgy vibe.
In fact, the homepage for the podcast, named after a certain medical procedure, describes it like this: “Welcome to The Pap Smear Podcast…where we don’t just scratch the surface, we go deeper. Ripping the filter off the usual polished conversations, Alison Victoria isn’t here to play nice. Each episode dives headfirst into the raw, the real and the downright uncomfortable. Despite the name, it’s not about women’s health. It’s about emotional strip-downs and getting messy with vulnerability. No topic is too taboo, no guest’s off the hook. If you’re into deep dives, dirty truths and conversations that leave a mark – welcome to your new obsession”
Alison Victoria Says HGTV Viewers Don’t Really Know Her
On her Instagram account, Alison Victoria posted clips from the first episode of her new podcast, which just dropped May 26.
In one clip, she says, “How do I get to a different level where I’m doing the interview? I’m asking the questions. But also through asking the questions, I’m revealing something about me that people don’t know. Because I think all people know about me is that, like, I’m a designer. Or all people know is that, like, I’ve gone through a rough patch in my career with the lawsuits. Or now they know about my love life. Like, but what else do people know? They don’t know that much!”
Episode One Focuses On ‘Fake Weddings’ and ‘Freezing Eggs’
Episode One of the podcast certainly doesn’t pull any punches. The title of the episode is “Fake Weddings, Freezing Eggs and [expletive] Playing Nice”
The write up for the episode says, “In this raw, no-holds-barred debut, Alison Victoria shreds the script, flips the table and sets fire to the filtered version of herself you’ve seen on TV. Why start a podcast? Because she’s tired of playing by the rules.
She breaks it all down – from her fake wedding (yes, that happened) to surviving 24 rounds of egg freezing that pushed her to the edge. No sugarcoating. No soft lighting. Just the messy, complicated and sometimes hilarious truth about life behind the scenes.
If you’re looking for the real Alison – the one who’s been through hell and came back laughing – you just found her.
Ready to go deep? Hit play.”
New Podcast Is Produced By Victoria’s New Production Company
The podcast is produced by 44-year-old Alison Victoria’s newly formed production company, “Briefly Gorgeous.”
According to Variety, Victoria said she launched Briefly Gorgeous Productions to “make every moment on television truly count” and plans to “bring a new format of storytelling to life.”
“Through Briefly Gorgeous Productions, we aim to change the narrative,” Victoria said. “We’re going to take you places you’ve never been, introduce you to people you’ve never met, and make you feel things you’ve never felt. This is a new era of television, where the stories are real, the emotions are raw, and the beauty lies in the authenticity of the human experience.”
“Television should be more than just performance art,” Victoria said. “It should be a window into real lives, real stories, and real emotions. We’re tired of the superficial and staged. It’s time to peel back the curtain and reveal the authentic, vulnerable souls behind every captivating story.”
In the 47-minute podcast, Victoria starts her quest to get real right away by addressing the unusual choice of a name for the podcast. She explains, “You’re vulnerable, you’re exposed… I’ve always been that way.”
New episodes drop every Tuesday. You can listen to episode one here.
