A recent teaser for “When Calls the Heart” season 12 has some fans wondering if there might be wedding bells for Hope Valley’s power couple, Nathan and Elizabeth. And Erin Krakow added fuel to that fire with her own Instagram share.
The Very First Scene in a Video Teasing Season 12 Has Fans Talking
The official “When Calls the Heart” Instagram account shared a quick video showing different locations in Hope Valley. And it was the first image that caught fans’ eye.
It was the shot of an empty chapel in the very first scene, coupled with the account’s caption, that is sparking fan rumors. The account wrote: “Can you feel it? The anticipation is building for the season twelve premiere arriving January 5th… Any season twelve predictions, #Hearties?”
Some viewers thought the account might be teasing a Nathan-Elizabeth wedding, even though the couple just became “Hope Valley official” in the season 11 finale.
One fan guessed: “Nathan and Elizabeth get engaged and married and adopt each other’s children.”
Others are hoping for an engagement.
“Looking for at least an engagement in Season 12!” one person wrote.
And still other fans are just happy to see Nathan and Elizabeth blending their families in season 12.
“N&E as a couple for a entire season and them co-parenting their kids just warm my heart, can’t wait to hear/read about the stories they will be telling in season 12,” one person wrote.
It’s clear the chapel in the video isn’t decked out for a wedding, especially if you compare it to what Elizabeth and Jack’s wedding looked like. But that doesn’t stop fans from hoping.
Erin Krakow Teased That She Has ‘Good Tea’ to Spill
It’s clear that interesting things are in the works for Nathan and Elizabeth.
Erin Krakow, who portrays Elizabeth, teased it herself with a post on December 11 where she wrote: “When you’ve got the good tea and you just want to spill it…”
When season 11 ended, Nathan and Elizabeth had just revealed to the town that they’re a couple now. But the easygoing feeling didn’t last long. They were sharing a kiss after Mike and Mei’s wedding when Superintendent Hargraves interrupted them. Hargraves was Nathan’s superior officer at Fort Clay, where Jack was also stationed before his death.
Nathan thought Hargraves was there to see him, but Hargraves corrected him and said that he needed to speak to Elizabeth.
“Mrs. Thornton,” Hargraves said. “It’s about your late husband.”
Of course, fans were buzzing about what Hargraves could possibly have to say about Jack. (If you want spoilers, the showrunner already revealed if Jack is returning or not.)
While exactly what’s in store for Nathan and Elizabeth isn’t clear, what is clear is that fans will get to enjoy some wonderful moments between the two.
“When Calls the Heart” returns on January 5, 2025.
