‘When Calls the Heart’ Season 12 Episode 4 Sneak Peek: Trouble in Hope Valley

Hearties are excited to see the latest chapter in When Calls the Heart’s new episode on Sunday night. Called “Dancing Teens,” season 12 episode 4 looks like it will be a lot of fun (and bring a lot of laughs too.)

It appears that one of the biggest storylines will revolve around Allie’s upcoming dance party, and the trouble it brings when some Hope Valley residents try to get it banned. Read on to see some minor spoilers and photos from the new episode.

A Dance Party Causes Trouble in Hope Valley

In Hallmark’s official sneak peek, we get to see a sweet, romantic moment between Nathan and Elizabeth. Elizabeth is teaching Nathan to dance, and she tells him that she’s proud of him for handling how Allie is growing up.

Hallmark also shared a trailer for the new episode.

Allie’s planning the birthday dance party that she and her friends talked about in last week’s episode. (This is also Allie’s secret way of spending more time with Earl Wyatt.) But some residents of Hope Valley think the dance is “scandalous” and should be outlawed by the town. (Hmm, this reminds me a bit of a certain 80s movie…)

A longer synopsis for the new episode reads:

Elizabeth (Krakow) helps Allie (Jaeda Lily Miller, Christmas in Evergreen) plan her birthday dance and realizes that tastes have changed from the ballroom dances of her youth. Nathan (McGarrry)
continues to struggle with how grown up Allie is becoming. Allie tries to hold off on telling him about the dance to spare his feelings and worries when it quickly becomes the talk of Hope Valley. With all of the teenagers in town getting ready for the dance, the Canfields (Viv Leacock and Natasha Burnett, Legend of the Lost Locket) navigate new challenges for Angela (Vienna Leacock, Time for Us to Come Home for Christmas). Bill (Wagner) and Rosemary (Hutton) seek Nathan’s help investigating the gold coin and its possible link to a long, unsolved robbery. Lucas (McNally) runs into Edie Martell (Miranda MacDougall, The Flash) on her uncle’s ranch and lends her a hand.

Who Is Earl Wyatt?

In case you need a quick reminder, Earl Wyatt was last seen in season 4, according to the WCTH fan wiki. He and his brother Chad arrived in Hope Valley that season to attend Elizabeth’s school. The two brothers teased Opal about her teddy bear, and the bear’s arm got torn off when Cody tried to stand up for her.

Things only got worse at first, with the two brothers trashing the schoolhouse and being threatened with being expelled. Elizabeth thought their mother leaving the family might have been causing them to act out as bullies. The boys’ father explained what happened with their mother, and the two apologized and cleaned up the school. But it’s obvious from Earl’s return to Hope Valley all these years later that Opal’s not over what happened.

“When Calls the Heart” returns on the Hallmark Channel for a new episode on Sunday night, January 26, at 9 p.m. Eastern.
