The third installment of Hallmark’s “Hannah Swensen Mysteries” starring Victor Webster in the role of Chris Norton debuted on February 6. Ahead of the premiere, Webster opened up about one major thing he thinks it’s time to see happen between Norton and Swensen, played by Alison Sweeney.
In the new installment of “Hannah Swensen Mysteries,” Webster shares that Norton accepts he’s “smitten with her professionally and possibly personally.” A dinner invitation finally happens, and Webster joked, “I’m tired of waiting for it. I wanna get to dinner.”
Webster is rooting for Norton and Swensen to take their relationship in a romantic direction. He “sure hopes” it happens, and admitted he “would imagine it [will happen]. We have to at some point for sure.”
Some fans are still “Team Mike,” missing the character of Mike Kingston, played by Cameron Mathison. However, Webster’s portrayal of Norton in the past three movie installments has fans wanting more.
Victor Webster Says Chad Norton’s Crushing on Hannah Swensen
On February 25, Webster chatted with Us Weekly about his hopes for his character in the “Hannah Swensen Mysteries” franchise.
Webster thinks it’s time for the pair to set aside their professional boundaries and let their personal relationship blossom into something more.
He admits his character, a prosecuting attorney, is “very much by the book.” Because he met Swensen while handling a case, during “One Bad Apple: A Hannah Swensen Mystery,” he kept any developing personal feelings at bay.
When Norton and Swensen reconnected during “A Sprinkle of Deceit: A Hannah Swensen Mystery,” their dynamic became more personal. He even admitted to her he was interested in taking her out to dinner.
The actor explained of Swensen and Norton, “She just has a magnetism to solving these cases and Chad starts to see her value.”
Not only does Norton start seeing Swensen’s value, but he also begins to really appreciate her charm and personality. He starts to see her as a “kind, helpful, funny, outgoing person.”
Now, the third installment of the franchise featuring Webster and Sweeney has debuted. “Reality Bites: A Hannah Swensen Mystery,” premiered on February 6. The dynamic between Norton and Swensen developed even further on a personal level.
“He is understanding that she could be a real, valuable asset. He likes having her around. He likes her energy. I think that deep down inside, he may not admit it right at this point, but he might have a little crush on her,” Webster explained.
Hallmark Fans Want to See More of Norton & Swensen Together
Webster was asked by Us Weekly about another installment of the “Hannah Swensen Mystery” series. However, he played mum on whether fans can expect more.
He admitted, “[There are] so many of these different stories and we need to see what happens between Hannah and Chad. So I think if the fans want it, there’s a good chance that maybe we can make it happen.”
Fans seem eager to see more of Webster and Sweeney together.
“Good movie. Hope she makes more movies & Chad is a plus,” one fan wrote on an Instagram post on the Hallmark+ page.
“Excellent movie, hope you make another one soon. It was great to see Norman back as well. But Allison (sic) congratulations on writing this movie, such talent, ♥️🙂💯” another Instagram comment read.
Someone else shared, “I mean, who wouldn’t want Victor Webster to ask them out? Wait patiently for Chad, Hannah, it’s worth it!
“I loved the movie! Chad is a great addition, 😍” a separate fan of the franchise commented.
