One month after throwing a special “For Your Consideration” (FYC) event to encourage Television Academy members to consider nominating “The Way Home” for one or more Emmy Awards, another group of Hallmark stars and execs gathered in Los Angeles on May 29, 2025, with the same goal.
Among them was beloved Hallmark hunk Tyler Hynes, who jokingly chided Hallmark pal and fellow attendee Jonathan Bennett on social media for barely noticing his bold fashion choice — a black, mesh “nipple shirt” that was a big departure from his usual red carpet looks. Bennett may not have swooned over his wardrobe choice, but Hynes’ fans certainly did.
Fans Joked That They Thought Tyler Hynes Borrowed His Shirt From Jonathan Bennett

Hynes was at the L.A. event with cast members from Hallmark’s 2024 smash hit “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story,” including his co-star Hunter King, for a panel discussion and to socialize with Emmy voters. Bennett, meanwhile, was there with castmates from the first season of “Finding Mr. Christmas,” Hallmark’s first-ever unscripted competition, which he developed and hosted.
Bennett shared an Instagram post on May 30 about the event, expressing his gratitude for everyone involved in the making of his series and the FYC event. In the comment section, Hynes quipped, “But where were you when I showed up in a nipple shirt and you said nothing… 🖤 #bennett4president”
Hynies had a field day in the comment section — and expressed their own gratitude for the sheer shirt — including one who wrote, “I thought you borrowed it from @jonathandbennett 😂”
Bennett, who rocked his own barely-there shirt at the GLAAD Awards in March, hilariously replied to Hynes, “I SAID NOTHING SO YOUR NIPS COULD SHINE LIKE THE STAR THAT YOU ARE! It’s called friendship”
Jaymes Vaughan, Bennett’s husband, jumped into the mix by writing, “SO proud of you. SO proud of Tyler’s shirt” and Hynes replied, “supportive in my darkest nipple hours 🖤”
Hynes’ style has certainly evolved over the last two years as his popularity and exposure skyrocketed at Hallmark, starring in the network’s top two movies of 2024 — “Holiday Touchdown” and “Three Wiser Men and a Boy.”
Back in 2023, he told TV Fanatic, “I dress the same. I wear the same clothes every day in my life. I have multiple versions of the same pair of pants that I’ve cut to fit my length of leg, and I keep things simple. I don’t purchase clothes ever.”
Jonathan Bennett Says He’s Grateful Co-Stars Tyler Hynes & B.J. Britt Always Show Up to Support Each Other
All joking aside, Bennett’s Instagram post on May 30 revealed how proud he was to get to represent “Finding Mr. Christmas” at Hallmark’s FYC event, where he reunited with contestants Hayden Maher and Elijah Malcomb and celebrity judges Nikki DeLoach, Brooke D’Orsay, B.J. Britt, and Erin Cahill.
“To have a For Your Consideration event and celebrate a show we created is mind blowing, but to get to do it with your best friends and celebrate their movie along side it is truly magical,” he wrote. “To the over 900 voters that came out to celebrate Finding Mr Christmas and Holiday Touchdown THANK YOU! To all the cast, crew, and guest judges of these projects, you’re absolutely icons.”
Noting Hynes and Britt’s presence, he added, “Special thank you to @tyler_hynes and @iambjbritt my ride or die’s , The Groomsmen, always have each other’s back. I am feeling overwhelmed with love and support right now. Fingers crossed! 🤞🏻 #emmys”
Bennett and Hynes have been on a roll when it comes to winning awards. In March, “The Groomsmen: Second Chances” won the GLAAD Award for Outstanding Film — Streaming or TV. In early May, “Holiday Touchdown” won the Gracie Award for Best Ensemble Cast for a Made-for-TV Movie Award.
Whether their projects earn any Emmy nominations remains to be seen; nominations will be announced on July 15, per Entertainment Weekly, for shows and TV movies that aired between June 1, 2024, and May 31, 2025.
