Hallmark star Tyler Hynes has a big fan following, and there’s a good reason why. Co-star Andrew Walker recently shared a sweet story that revealed just how far Hynes will go for his fans.
Tyler Hynes Gave His Business Class Plane Ticket to a Fan
In an interview with People, Hynes, Andrew Walker, and Paul Campbell talked about their preparation for “Three Wiser Men and a Boy,” along with the trio’s great camaraderie. During the interview, Walker shared a sweet story that illustrated just how generous Hynes can be with his fans.
Walker told People: “There’s this woman I met at Christmas Con. She said she flew in with her daughters and her daughters came over to the table and they’re like, ‘Oh, we were on the same flight as Tyler.’ And the daughter goes, ‘Tyler gave my mom his business class ticket. He just said, you want to sit up here?’ And basically, swapped seats and sat next to the girls on the flight down to New Jersey. Like, who is this guy?”
Hynes Said He Has to Be Diligent Because There Are So Many Fake Accounts Online
During the interview with People, Hynes also spoke briefly about all the DMs they receive on social media from their fans and why they need to be cautious.
“We have to be careful, to be quite honest,” Hynes told People. “The internet’s a little bit wild in terms of fake accounts and scammers, and the people that come to this network are so lovely and vulnerable… So, we do have to be very diligent and careful with how we engage with things to keep our audience safe in terms of being taken advantage of.”
Campbell chimed in, saying that all the DMs he’s gotten from fans have been “lovely” and encouraging.
Hynes’ fans, who call themselves Hynies, have faced a number of impersonators on different social media networks over the years. In fact, in October 2023, Hynes referred to one slick impersonator as being “terrifying.”
That was when the fan account Hynies_Headquarters shared a reel showing an AI that could mimic Hynes’ voice with alarming clarity.
Hynes commented to Hynies_Headquarters, writing: “Terrifying. Thanks for looking out for each other.” He then reshared the video with his followers on his Instagram Story and warned them: “This is fake artificial intelligence that sounds just like me. This is terrifying. Please be safe. This is not and never will be me… If you have family and friends who are less scammer savy, Please look out for them. They could be quietly engaged with a scammer like this.”
Hynes Recently Created a Bracelet for His Fans That Was ‘Years in the Making’
Hynes is all about making his fans feel welcome and loved. In late October, he introduced a gold bracelet with a charm that lets his fans take part in a “secret handshake.” The bracelet, he revealed, was “years in the making” and tested by family members to ensure quality.
The bracelet had the word “Hynies” on it and carried half of a magnetic gold heart that can “bond” with a fan who is wearing the other half.
The bracelet comes with a heart-shaped jewelry box. You can purchase it on his online shop.
Hynes wrote on his post: “My wish was to attempt to make something as lovely as you. To try to capture the feeling of our shared company so that you can carry it with you. So no matter where you are, you are not alone.”
