Hallmark’s Torrance Coombs Films Airport Saga for Fans During Totally Relatable Travel Day

Actor Torrance Coombs may be starring in a slew of Hallmark Channel movies in 2025, but even he couldn’t charm his way out of an exasperating day of budget travel plot twists. However, he likely charmed plenty of fans with his frequent updates throughout the day on his travel saga.

On June 29, Coombs started out the day by posting a selfie of himself and tagged Frontier Airlines. Smirking a bit, leaning against a wall in his ballcap, he wrote, “Rolled the Frontier dice and lost. Do not fly this airline.”

Toorance Coombs Tried Budget Airline For the 1st Time and It Did Not Go Well

Trying to get home from a trip, Coombs, who will soon appear in all four “Unwrapping Christmas” movies premiering as part of Hallmark Channel’s Christmas in July programming, chronicled his all-day adventure via his Instagram Stories, as he tried to get home.

Offering to “elaborate” on what was happening, the “Reign” alum said in his first Instagram Story of the day, “So I got here an hour and a half ahead of my flight. It’s a domestic flight, by the way, and I go to print my bag tags, which is what you do, because I already have my boarding pass.”

“Checked in, and then the bag tag machine malfunctioned,” Coombs continued. “It didn’t print my tags, and it was doing this to a few people, but then would happily print the next customer’s tags for no
reason. Just kind of like glitchy.”

He further explained, “So I let the agent there know, ‘Hey, this thing didn’t print my tags and it won’t let me reprint tags.’ And she said, ‘Okay, well, you gotta go stand in that big, long line.’ It’s like an hour and a half line, so by the time I get to the front of the line, the bag cut offs happen, and I can’t check my bag and I miss my flight.”

Over the next Story, Coombs wrote, “Every airline has problems. It’s how they handle them. Deeply frustrating experience.” Trying to be diplomatic about the situation, Coombs said, “So okay, fine. You can argue I should have got there sooner because of unforeseen circumstances. So then they set about rebooking me on a new flight. Well, they don’t have any more flights today going to the airport I’m going to.”

Coombs, who was also part of Hallmark’s 2024 “Hearts Around the Table” movies, said he then reasoned with the ticketing agent that perhaps they could find an airport not too far from his final destination, and that he could get an Uber to take him the rest of the way. They did that — for an extra $150 rebooking fee.

He said, “I’m like, “Because your bag tag machine malfunctioned. Now I’m out an extra $150 I have to wait at the airport for an additional 12 hours, and it’s gonna be like, $150 to Uber back to my place. Amazing.'”

Torrance Coombs’ Adventures Continued & Says He’s Learned a Valuable Lesson

Coombs’ adventures weren’t over, but he had already learned a valuable lesson, he said, telling his fans in his next Instagram Story, “So that’s just what you get with the budget airlines, man. When [expletive] goes right, it’s okay. When [expletive] goes wrong … I know you get what you pay for, and you take your chances, and I rolled the dice.”

“There’s a reason that these things cost less, and it’s the hidden cost when things go wrong,” Coombs continued. “So, yeah, this ends up more expensive than, like, just a normal, nice airline.”

“And they don’t even have an in flight snack,” he quipped, making a sad face. “Sadness pie.”

Hours later, Coombs hopped back into his Stories, telling fans, “All right, guys, an update on the situation. Still at the airport. Went to check in for my evening flight, the kiosk didn’t want to accept my new boarding pass, so I had to go see an agent again and get in that line again.”

He added, “And when I got to the front and told them that the kiosk had rejected me, they treated me, frankly, like the world’s biggest [expletive] idiot, like I just didn’t know what I was doing, demanded to see my ID, which I had already handed to them.”

“I get it,” he quipped. “I bet working for frontier sucks balls, and you’re just dealing with upset and angry people who’ve been surcharged into the ground all day. But it’s been a day, guys, and you get what you pay for.”

“I suppose it’s no one person’s fault, but it just creates an experience where you’re like, why would I sign up for this again?” Coombs asked.

In the end, Coombs wrapped up his daylong adventure with a sarcastic summary of his adventure with a final Instagram Story, after noting that “in the spirit of fairness,” the airline did offer him a $100 voucher for a future flight.

“To summarize the experience,” he said, “I showed up well on time for my flight with a full price ticket, paid for baggage, prepaid for their machine malfunctions, causing them to send me to a line that caused me to miss my flight. And then they said, ‘Okay, so here’s what we’re gonna do. We’re gonna fly to an airport farther away from your home, delay you 13 hours. You get to pay us $150 for the privilege, and then we’ll give you a gift card to partially subsidize your next ticket so you can give us money again!’ Thank you?”

Sounds like all he needs is an adorable meet-cute and the perfect co-star, and Coombs has a Hallmark hit on his hands!
