Hallmark star Tia Mowry has plenty on her plate these days. However, she recently revealed she would not completely rule out a return to where it all began.
Mowry and her twin sister, Tamera Mowry-Housley, starred together on the series “Sister, Sister,” which aired from 1994 to 1999.
In a television environment where numerous reboots have been quite popular in recent years, Mowry was asked if she would consider doing a “Sister, Sister” reboot. Her response indicated she might not be pushing for it, but she also would not necessarily immediately reject the idea, either.
Tia Mowry Admitted She Doesn’t Have a Crystal Ball to Know the Future
On March 9, People asked Mowry about the possibility. She replied, “Yeah, I mean, never say never.”
Mowry added, “I’m just a huge believer in that, meaning I don’t have a crystal ball, but never say never.”
The premise of the original series was that the two sisters were twins who had been separated at birth and placed for adoption. One day, the two ran into one another at a shopping mall during their teen years. That encounter was the first they learned about one another.
As the two got to know one another, they discovered that their adoptive parents were very different from one another. Ultimately, the adoptive father of Tamera, Ray, and the adoptive mother of Tia, Lisa, moved in together so the teens could stay together.
Fans Still Adore ‘Sister, Sister’
Both sisters have moved on to do many other acting gigs since starring on “Sister, Sister.” However, fans have not forgotten the iconic show. Mowry regularly gets comments referring to the show on her various Instagram posts.
“What a time! Now I got my daughters watching you guys,” one fan wrote on a post with some throwback photos.
“I still watch sister sister & always talk about them silk presses when I get to season 4, 😂” commented another fan.
“I just got done binging Sister, Sister for a third time, (:” added someone else.
A comment on another post read, “I miss seeing y’all together! Love you, sisters!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️”
In August 2023, the Hollywood Reporter shared a list of television reboots that had some level of success. “Fuller House” had a successful run, but there were other shows that lasted at least a few seasons as well.
“Hawaii Five-0,” “Girl Meets World,” and “90210” garnered solid followings during their runs, as did “And Just Like That…” and “One Day at a Time.”
Mowry did not indicate she had been officially approached about a “Sister, Sister” reboot. However, the way she answered the recent question would suggest she would be willing to consider it should the opportunity arise.
