With just a handful of episodes left in season 3 of Hallmark Channel’s time travel series “The Way Home,” fans aren’t the only ones hoping the show continues.
Chyler Leigh and Sadie Laflamme-Snow, who play mother and daughter on the show, have forged a real-life mother-daughter bond since their first meeting three years ago, they told SheKnows in an interview published on February 20, 2025.
Like a mama bear, Leigh told the outlet she’s “fiercely protective” of Laflamme-Snow, and no matter when “The Way Home” wraps, she vowed to “protect her till the end of time.”

Leigh has three kids with her husband, Nathan West — son Noah, 21, and daughters Taelyn, 18, and Anniston, 15. But Laflamme-Snow, 25, has become like another daughter to her, she told SheKnows.
“I look at her with those little heart eyeballs,” Leigh told the outlet. “I’ve watched Sadie grow tremendously, not just as an artist — though that just fills my little bones with pride when I see her evolving as an artist — but in so many different ways.”
“She’s a multi-talented young woman,” she continued, “and I am fiercely protective and proud of her. As a human being who is growing up and in an industry that can be absolutely awful, especially to young women, I’m seeing strength (and) courage in her. I’ll protect her until the end of time, but this girl can take care of herself.”
LaFlamme credits Leigh and her other castmates, including the show’s family matriarch Andie MacDowell, with lovingly mentoring her so that she can feel safe and thrive on the show.
“It’s also so easy to fall into a family dynamic, in particular with Chyler and Andie in the show,” she told SheKnows. “We got along instantly — and we continue to act like a family.”

“I feel like I came into this show very green,” LaFlamme-Snow admitted during a Facebook Live discussion in December. “I had a lot to learn. And I think that…working with people who care about everyone, it shows you that it makes what you’re making better.”
Noting that she thinks that genuine love within the cast is “felt through the screen,” LaFlamme-Snow said, “That is what makes coming to work and doing, arguably, really vulnerable stuff at work together so enjoyable and so easy.”
“I feel like I’ve really done a lot of growing up myself on the show as a person,” she continued, “and to be doing that in an environment where I feel so supported is so spectacular, and I don’t take it for granted. I know it’s not the standard, and I’m so grateful for it.”
“The Way Home” airs Friday nights on Hallmark Channel at 9 p.m. Eastern time, and each episode is available to stream via Hallmark+ the next day.
