‘The Way Home’ Cast Thrilled by Major Award: ‘Guys, We Did It!’

For weeks, cast members from Hallmark’s hit series “The Way Home” urged their fans on social media to vote for the time-travel drama to win the Audience Choice Award at the 2025 Canadian Screen Awards.

Their efforts clearly paid off because the show took home the coveted prize on June 2, thrilling the show’s fans and stars. The Canadian Academy of Cinema and Television has held the awards since 2013 to honor Canadian talent and productions. “The Way Home” is filmed in Toronto.

‘The Way Home’ Stars Celebrate Huge Win at Canadian Screen Awards

Winners of the Canadian Screen Awards are voted on by the Academy’s 4,000 members. The Audience Award is the only honor voted on and determined by fans. Members of the cast who were there to accept the award included Chyler Leigh, Sadie Laflamme-Snow, Jefferson Brown, Samora Smallwood, Jordan Doww, Devin Cecchetto, and John Spencer Macpherson.

Showrunner and series co-creator Alexandra Clarke shared a photo in her Instagram Stories of the cast and crew accepting the award and wrote, “Guys …we did it! YOU did it!!!!!!!!”

LaFlamme-Snow shared multiple social media posts about the night, including one where she wrote, “thank you to everyone who voted for us! you are all apart of this family and we are so honoured that you chose to spend your time watching our story on your screens.”

Doww shared the video of the cast and crew accepting the award and wrote, “SOBBING i love this family so much!”

Evan Williams, who couldn’t attend the awards, posted a photo of those who were there and wrote, “Wowza Look at all these rock stars,” adding, “A massive thank you to all the devoted fans of the show who voted for us. Couldn’t be prouder of our whole team. 🔆”

‘The Way Home’ Cast & Crew Also Hopes to Be Nominated for an Emmy

Following the show’s win at the Canadian Screen Awards, Hallmark execs have another huge goal in mind for the series, now filming its fourth season: to win an Emmy Award.

In late April, Hallmark Media hosted a “For Your Consideration (FYC)” event at the private Hollywood club and luxury hotel The Aster. Hallmark was one of many networks hosting screenings for Emmy voters, hoping they’ll consider “The Way Home” as they nominate shows, casts, and crews for the 2025 Emmy Awards.

The primary cast, including Landry family matriarch Andie MacDowell, joined “The Way Home” showrunners Heather Conkie and Alexandra Clarke, as well as series co-creator and executive producer Marly Reed, for a screening of the show and panel discussion.

Whether the screening and party swayed Emmy voters remains to be seen; nominees for the 2025 Emmys will be announced on July 15, per Entertainment Weekly.
