Are Scott Wolf & Lacey Chabert Reuniting for ‘A Merry Scottish Christmas’ Sequel?

The 2023 reunion of “Party of Five” alums Scott Wolf and Lacey Chabert in Hallmark Channel’s “A Merry Scottish Christmas” was so exciting for fans, it soared to record-breaking ratings, becoming the most-watched cable movie of the year.

Before filming “A Merry Scottish Christmas” in Ireland and Scotland, Chabert and Wolf hadn’t appeared onscreen together since playing sister and brother Claudia and Bailey Salinger on “Party of Five” from 1994 to 2000, alongside Matthew Fox, Neve Campbell, and Jennifer Love Hewitt.

The TV siblings will soon reunite in person at 90s Con in March 2025, but Hallmark fans continue to hope for another onscreen collaboration — ideally in a sequel to their hit Christmas movie. Hallmark has not announced any official plans for a sequel, but Wolf just gave fans hope in a new interview.

Scott Wolf Says He’s ‘Open’ to Shooting a Sequel

Though Chabert has consistently been part of the Hallmark lineup for over a decade, “A Merry Scottish Christmas” marked Wolf’s first movie on the network in four years, having co-starred in 2019’s “A Christmas Love Story” opposite Kristin Chenowith. In late January, Wolf told TV Insider that returning to make “A Merry Scottish Christmas” was “100% about working with Lacey again.”

Given that they executive produced the film together, Wolf said, “We also created, I really think, a beautiful little holiday story. And we knew we wanted to play siblings. We knew we wanted to work together again. And so it was a joy to be part of building that thing with Lacey and some really talented people, and shooting it was awesome.”

“The chance to circle back with her and spend time with her and be brother and sister again after what we experienced together on ‘Party of Five’ was really special,” he said.

When asked what he thought of returning for a sequel, Wolf said, “I’m open,” and quipped that the title could be ‘Another Merry Scottish Christmas.'”

Scott Wolf & Lacey Chabert Are Both Reaching New Heights in Their Careers

Though Chabert has not specifically addressed doing a sequel to “A Merry Scottish Christmas,” she gushed about working again with Wolf while promoting the movie in 2023. On the night their movie premiered, she tweeted, “Having the chance to work with him again meant more to me than I can say!”

Chabert has not shied away from sequels on Hallmark, either. Her other 2023 Christmas movie, “Haul Out the Holly,” got a sequel the following year — and there’s buzz that a third movie in the franchise is in the works. Her movie “All of My Heart” also got a sequel, and she’s made six “Wedding Veil” movies with Alison Sweeney and Autumn Reeser.

The biggest challenge for Wolf and Chabert might be coordinating their schedules. Wolf has a hit series on his hands with the new FOX drama, “Doc.” Its January 7 premiere was the biggest series debut for FOX in five years, according to Deadline.

Chabert, meanwhile, just signed a new talent deal with Hallmark that guarantees not only that she’ll star in multiple movies per year through 2026, but also film a second season of her Hallmark+ series, “Celebrations With Lacey Chabert,” and launch a Hallmark product line during the holidays.
