While making multiple press appearances to promote his new FOX medical series “Doc,” Hallmark Channel alum Scott Wolf didn’t let on just how much his family was struggling with real-life medical crises back home in Park City, Utah.
On January 19, 2025, Scott’s wife of 20 years — MTV “Real World: New Orleans” alum Kelley Wolf — revealed on Instagram that their year has begun with an “insane merry go round” of health emergencies since December 30, including two hospitalizations for their 10-year-old daughter, Lucy. The couple also has two sons — Jackson, 15, and Miller, 12.
Kelley told her followers that their 10-year-old is “out of the hospital” after being admitted twice in January. The first time was for “severe dehydration,” Kelley said, noting that illnesses were running rampant in their household but “she tested negative on everything and was thoroughly taken care of, thank you PC Hospital!”
After Lucy was released, Kelley shared, she wound up being rushed back to the local Children’s Hospital by ambulance three days later, with her dad on the other side of the country.
Scott & Kelley Wolf’s Daughter Was Admitted to Hospital for 4 Days After Her Fever Spiked to 105.7
Scott, who starred with his “Party of Five” co-star Lacey Chabert in 2023’s most-watched cable movie of the year, Hallmark’s “A Merry Scottish Christmas,” spent part of January on the East Coast, appearing on local and national talk shows to promote “Doc,” which premiered on January 7.
While he was away, daughter Lucy took a turn for the worse, Kelley shared in her Instagram post.
“After being home for three days, she spiked a fever of 105.7 and was taken by ambulance to Children’s Hospital,” she wrote. “Where she was admitted, and we stayed for four days. During that time, Scott was promoting his new show on Fox.”
“Lucy had the flu, salmonella, and extreme gastroenteritis,” Kelley explained, “as well as other very uncomfortable things. Needless to say. She was in pretty bad shape and we are extremely grateful to the care we received at children’s Hospital.”
But that wasn’t the end of the family’s health concerns. Kelley shared, “When Lucy and I went in the ambulance, our oldest son was also extremely sick with fever. he was hydrated and did not need to be taken to the hospital, but it was very hard to leave him home.”
Once Lucy was released from Children’s, “we came home to two more sick people in the house,” Kelley wrote. “They are now on the mend, but we’re also extremely sick with the flu.”
“As of today,” Kelley continued, “we are definitely hoping we are on the other side of all of the insanity but needless to say I am utterly exhausted.”
Scott Wolf Says Joking About Being a ‘Doctor on TV’ Did Not Go Over Well With His Wife
Kelley, who runs her own business as an executive coach and author, thanked her more than 50,000 followers “for all of the kind messages” and the many loved ones who have pitched in, while also acknowledging others’ current hardships.
“I know there are so many friends, dealing with BIG, life-altering situations,” she wrote. “I wanted to send all of the love and all of the peace and all of the hope that no matter how hard something might feel, sometimes the best plan is to surrender and then just do the next best thing.”
While appearing on “Live With Kelly and Mark” on January 6, Scott alluded to his family being sick, sharing that Kelley and the kids had “been stricken by … some kind of virus.”
“My daughter has it the worst,” he said at the time. “My wife has it now. There’s some mysterious symptoms. There’s some weird things. And I’m not a doctor, but I play one on TV.”
Scott, whose first Hallmark movie was 2019’s “A Christmas Love Story,” not only plays a doctor on his new FOX show, but also played one on his past series “Everwood” and “The Night Shift.” He told Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos that when he joked to his wife about his experience as a TV doctor, she was not amused.
He laughed, “So last night I was talking to my wife — and my daughter’s miserable, my wife’s kind of miserable — and I’m like, ‘Listen honey, I’m not a doctor, but I play one on TV. She hung up the phone. She hung up!”
