On June 3, Drew shared the details in an Instagram post. She began, “Well, the last couple weeks have been very eventful. 10 days before we wrapped season two of Mistletoe Murders I broke my hand on set doing a stunt.”

Drew explained, “I had to leave at lunch to go to the ER, and for any other crew, the wheels could’ve completely come off.”

In this case, however, “I got to witness something extraordinary. Our brilliant crew…shot for the rest of the day with my stunt double,” Drew revealed.

She credited the project’s “brilliant crew” and her stunt double for keeping things going while she was gone. She noted they also figured out how to “shoot around my cast for the rest of the season.”

The first part of the video that Drew shared gave fans lots of fun highlights from her time filming. Then, she posted a snippet of her time in the emergency room, holding up her arm that was bandaged from her elbow to her fingertips.

Drew’s bandaged arm could be spotted in various subsequent parts of the video, and she seemed to be smiling and laughing a lot despite the significant injury.

In her lengthy Instagram caption, Drew thanked various other crew members for their help during the ups and downs of shooting. She mentioned having to go to the emergency room a second time, and gave shout-outs to those who helped her pack and travel back home to Los Angeles.

“I showed up Thursday morning after the accident in a giant Cast that made my hand look like a Lego hand, and we proceeded to finish the season with efficiency, creativity and most importantly, laughter, joy and love,” Drew wrote.

Drew also admitted she told her parents the accident felt like a “hand chop from heaven because I got to witness my crew rise to the occasion so brilliantly, and I got to feel so totally loved and cared for in a way that felt tangible and blindingly bright.”
