The Hallmark Channel’s newest movie, “Return to Office,” premieres on Saturday, February 15, at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central. The movie stars Janel Parrish and Scott Michael Foster. Read on to learn all about where the movie was filmed and see behind-the-scenes stories from the cast.
‘Return to Office’ Was Filmed in Canada During ‘Teeth-Chattering’ Weather
“Return to Office” was filmed in Canada, under the direction of the production company Abbott Street Films. According to UBCP/ACTRA, the movie was filmed from November 12 to December 2.
In an interview with Good Day NWA, Foster said the only challenging part of filming was that the mostly shot the movie indoors because it was winter in Canada, but the one day they had to film outside it was really cold.
“One day we shot outside and it was like 12 degrees or something, so that was challenging,” he said. “And I think we were in, like, T-shirts.”
Parrish agreed: “Definitely teeth-chattering… But that’s pretty great when that’s the only challenging thing.”
Director Peter Benson shared that he had a great time working with the cast and crew on the movie. And he shared that Kavan Smith from “When Calls the Heart” will be in the film too.
“Hearties – lots for you here,” he wrote.
In an video with celebrity interviewer Bonnie Laufer on Youtube, Parrish shared that her husband can relate to her character in the movie more than she can. She shared that while he loves to work from home, she is more of an office worker because she enjoys engaging with her co-workers.
“I need to be in a room with people; I love the energy!” she said. “So I’m kind of the opposite of my character Liv who was kind of like not excited to get back into the office… I would have been like YES! PEOPLE!”
Hallmarkies on Reddit are excited about the movie as both actors have won fans’ hearts with their previous movies.

Parrish posted on Instagram: “The only way to recover from a movie shoot 🤍🤍🤍”, shortly after the movie wrapped filming in December.
Foster took to Instagram to wish everyone a Happy New Year in what appears to be a picture taken while on the movie set. He’s sitting on a big comfy sofa, while the crew films in the background in an office setting.

Hallmark’s synopsis reads: “After making the return to the office on a hybrid schedule, two coworkers known to each other only as Ms. Monday and Mr. Tuesday start sending friendly notes, sparking an office romance.”
Parrish plays Liv. According to her bio, she’s well known for her role as Mona Vanderwaal in “Pretty Little Liars” and its spinoff, as well as Margot Covey in the “To All the Boys” franchise. She also starred as Young Cosette in “Les Miserables” on Broadway and played Jade in “Bratz.” In 2023, she finished third on “The Masked Singer.”
For Hallmark, she’s starred in movies like “Sugarplummed,” “Haunted Wedding,” “Never Been Chris’d,” “Family History Mysteries,” “Coyote Creek Christmas,” and “Right in Front of Me.”
Born in Hawaii, Parrish grew up in Honolulu before moving to California as a teen to pursue acting. She’s married to Chris and they have two adopted pets: Kleo and Moose.
Scott Michael Foster is Tom. According to his bio, he’s known for roles like Cappie in “Greek,” Leo in “Chasing Life,” and Nathaniel in “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.” He’s also appeared in “Californication,” “Halt and Catch Fire,” “Once Upon a Time,” and “You.” Outside of acting, he’s the lead singer of an indie rock band, Siren’s Eye, which released its first EP in 2009.
