After Hallmark fans get their temporary fill of holiday fare during the network’s Christmas in July movies and series, they can look forward to spending August 2025 traveling through time.
On June 11, Hallmark Channel announced that the “Providence Falls” trilogy developed by actress and entrepreneur Joanna Garcia Swisher’s production company, and filmed in early 2025, will premiere on August 2, according to Deadline.
Hallmark Star Evan Roderick is Part of Hallmark Channel’s ‘Providence Falls’ Cast
“Providence Falls” will star Evan Roderick, who’s quickly become a familiar face to Hallmarkies, with starring roles in 2022’s “Autumn in the City,” 2023’s “Sealed With a List,” 2024’s “Leah’s Perfect Gift” and as Arthur in the new “Aurora Teagarden” movies starring Skyler Samuels.
He’ll be joined by Hallmark newcomers Katie Stevens and Lachlan Quarmby in the three-part “Special Event” adaptation of Jude Deveraux and Tara Sheets’ “Providence Falls” book series, per Deadline.
Set in Ireland in 1844, the trilogy follows Quarmby’s character, Liam O’Conner, “a rogue and a thief who falls in love with Cora McLeod,” played by Stevens, “a fiery but sheltered aristocrat’s daughter, who is promised in marriage to a man she barely knows,” according to the synopsis.
The logline continues, “Their plan to make a new life together in America is thwarted, and the consequences of Liam and Cora’s unlikely love ripples through time, causing everyone to relive the events of the past. Now the Angels of Destiny need Liam’s help to set things right and if he doesn’t succeed, his very soul is on the line.”
“They transport Liam to present day to help this incarnation of Cora fall in love with Finn,” played by Roderick, per the logline, “the man she was destined to marry in 1844. Liam would give anything to reunite with his beloved Cora but only he retains the memories of their past together. Now a cop in Providence Falls, Oregon, Cora feels an inexplicable connection to Liam, who is introduced as her new partner. And as they tackle a big case together, Liam sees the same passion and adventurous nature in Cora that he had fallen in love with. With everyone’s lives at stake, Liam must overcome unexpected and otherworldly obstacles in his mission. Perhaps none as powerful as his own undying love for Cora.”
Joanna Garcia Swisher Discovered ‘Providence Falls’ While Filming Her Hallmark Channel Movie in Ireland

Garcia Swisher, who starred in Hallmark’s 2021 Ireland-based rom-com “As Luck Would Have It,” is not expected to appear in “Providence Falls,” but she knew the network would be the perfect place for the story to land. According to Deadline, she expanded her lifestyle platform, The Happy Place, in 2024 to include a production company so she could turn some of her favorite books and stories into movies like this.
In a statement, she said, “I’m always searching for great stories to share with our community, ones I believe best represent what we stand for and our audience enjoys and I think ’The Providence Falls’ trilogy is the perfect story for us to launch under our new banner.”
“I discovered the material while filming in the magical and historic hills of Ireland for Hallmark,” she said, “and I was instantly swept up in the romance and the idea of soulmates finding each other again and again across time. I’ve always loved the notion that love can be eternal, and these books offered the perfect backdrop for a sweeping, epic love story and I believe the Hallmark audience will fall in love with ‘Providence Falls’ just as I did.”
Meanwhile, Deveraux, the author of the series, added, “I have always been a fan of the Hallmark Channel and now to be part of it is a great honor. I am excited about seeing my characters come to life!”
As part of Hallmark Channel’s “Summer Nights” programming, the three-part “Providence Falls” series will premiere on Hallmark Channel on August 2 at 8 p.m. Eastern time, available to stream the following day on Hallmark+.
