Hallmark star Melissa Peterman recently gave fans a taste of her home workout routine, and it prompted a sizeable reaction from her fans. The “Haul Out the Holly” star posted several videos via her social media page to provide insight into what her routine looked like, and she confidently relayed that she “nailed it.”
Melissa Peterman Didn’t Make Things Easy on Her Trainer
The latest adventure in Peterman’s home workout journey began with an Instagram post shared by her trainer, Danielle Gray. “Mondays are hard,” Gray wrote in the caption.
The video showed Gray arriving at Peterman’s home, ready to lead a workout. However, Peterman was essentially nowhere to be found. After looking around for a few seconds, Gray dejectedly exclaimed, “Not this again.”
The Hall and Oates song “She’s Gone” played as Gray perused Peterman’s backyard looking for her client.
Although Gray “missed” it, there was a glimpse of Peterman’s yellow tennis shoes peeking out from under a blanket on an outdoor lounge. As Gray “left,” the camera panned over to show Peterman hiding in the dog kennel with her pup Elvis the Belvis.

Peterman’s next Instagram post showed her ready for her “Morning workout.” Her photograph included what she noted was her “favorite towel,” and she added a hashtag that echoed the phrase embroidered on the towel.
“I would dry 4 U,” the embroidery read, and many fans needed no explanation. The embroidery was done in purple thread, and was clearly a nod to Minnesota icon Prince.
The phrase was a turn on Prince’s song “I Would Die 4 U,” which was released in 1984 on Prince’s album Purple Rain.
One fan commented, “Zero surprise that you own this towel!”
During a December 2023 appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” Minnesota native Peterman opened up about her love for Prince.
Peterman noted she was not just a fan, but a true Prince “fanatic.” She showed off the tattoo near her ankle she got in honor of Prince, and she surprised Hudson with a Prince-themed gift bag of goodies.
Peterman Tried to Gracefully Replicate Her Trainer’s Move
The final Instagram video Peterman shared in her home workout highlight streak showed her trainer demonstrating a move for her to try. Gray’s demonstration was flawless, but Peterman did not have as easy a time with it.
Peterman gave it her best, as the theme song for Monday Night Football played. However, her dog joined in on the fun and made it impossible for her to emulate the move smoothly. In the caption of her post, she wrote, “Nailed it.”
She added several comical hashtags, including “It was the dog’s fault,” “Dogs are perfect,” and “Fun with my trainer.”
One fan admitted, “I burst out laughing once I heard the music!”
“That dog is perfect, as are you,” declared another Instagram user.
“[You’re] graceful in your flopping to the ground. I’d have fallen completely over. Bravo,” someone else wrote.
