A Hallmark star took to social media to gush over her husband on their wedding anniversary. Melissa Gilbert, who had a role on the most recent season of “When Calls the Heart,” raved about her husband, Timothy Busfield, on their 12th anniversary.

On April 24, Gilbert shared a photo from her wedding day on her Instagram page. She added a lengthy caption that honored many of the things she has loved doing with her husband.
“12 years of true partnership, love, laughter, compassion, commitment, passion, laughter, cooking, kids, grandchildren, chickens, dogs, creating homes, films, plays, television,” she began.
Gilbert continued, “12 years of writing together, traveling, cuddling, delicious meals, romantic getaways, spooning, reflecting, meditating, praying.”
She added, “12 years of baseball, yoga, dance class. 12 years of adventure, comfort, care and synergy. 12 years married.”
The caption continued, “12 perfect years with my favorite person, who has my favorite face and my favorite soul. How lucky I am. I love you @timbusfield. Happy anniversary.”

In September 2024, Gilbert talked with People about falling in love with Busfield. “It sounds cliche to say it, but it really was like getting hit with a thunderbolt,” she said of the time she crossed paths with Busfield in 2012.
“It just seemed right and inevitable… The next morning when I woke up, my first thought was, ‘I’m going to marry him,’ and then my next thought was, ‘You’re a crazy person.'”
Her next move was to text Busfield to see if he wanted to meet for brunch. As it turns out, Busfield was doing the same thing at the same time.
“That’s when I thought, ‘Maybe I’m not so crazy. Maybe this is right.’ We met for brunch, and I knew … It just made sense.”
